10 ways to speed up your morning commute

There is one significant disadvantage in remote work – you quickly get used to pajamas. Because of this, it seems that the preparations for work in the office take too much time: after all, you need to pick up clothes, makeup, hair. And then also spend time on the road … Is it possible to optimize this process?

While the global situation is still far from stable, some have had to go back to the office. And now, instead of waking up 10 minutes before the morning call with colleagues, we again spend an hour or more on preparations …

But is it necessary? Stylists, make-up artists and a coach tell how you can reduce the time of morning preparations.

1. Think through the looks for the week ahead

You have probably heard that it is useful to get ready for work or school-institute in the evening, so as not to waste precious morning time sorting through the entire wardrobe. Coach Ellen Fay advises to go further and choose clothes for the week in advance: once spending half an hour in front of the closet, you can close this question for five days.

She also advises deciding in advance on which days you will put your hair in order to include this activity in your schedule.

2. Go through your wardrobe beforehand

In order not to suffer with the choice every time, stylist Jess Dreyfus recommends doing “homework”: take out all the things from the wardrobe once (yes, every single one!), try them on, make sure that they all fit you well and have not lost the marketable view. 4. Make sure you have all the basics

Like many of her fellow stylists, Dreyfus is sure that fashion is fashion, but your wardrobe should have things for all time. For example, straight jeans, classic black trousers, a leather jacket, a white shirt or a blouse… Of course, the specific set depends on your taste and lifestyle, but the general principle is that these things will not go out of fashion in a year, or in five, or in ten years.

Ceci also advises having a nice white T-shirt in your wardrobe, which you can always wear under a jacket or cardigan.

5. Put all the useful little things in a small handbag or cosmetic bag

If you change bags often, transferring things from one to another can take quite a lot of time, and there is always a risk of forgetting to transfer, say, a travel card or work pass. That’s why Dreyfus advises putting everything you need in one small bag that you can always toss into a larger bag or backpack.

Another option is to keep a separate set of everything you need at work. It may include, for example, a phone charger and a lens case.

6. When doing makeup and hair, concentrate on three zones

“Perfect styling, luxurious eyebrows, contoured cheekbones, mascara, CC cream, lipstick… Who among us has time for everything at once?! Choose three zones and focus only on them – this is better than the principle of “a little bit of everything” or an extra hour in front of the mirror, ”says beautician Nicole Livia.

7. Use multifunctional products

8. Skip washing your hair every day

“Washing your hair every day, you deprive your hair of its natural fat, and in order to somehow compensate for this, the body begins to produce even more of it, which means that the hair becomes more oily.
