10 things in the house that cause depression
It is worth getting rid of them in the 12 days remaining before the New Year, so as not to spoil your holiday.
The weather in the house is based not only on the availability of wealth, the absence of problems in the family and in work, abundance in everything. Sometimes everything seems to be fine, but something is wrong. The feeling of depression grows, turning into depression. But where did it come from? It’s all about the objects that surround us, because the house is our fortress, and in this fortress there should be no irritants and negative energy. Introducing the top 10 items that can cause depression.
1. Scattered documents
By themselves, the working docks do not lead to depression, although in a dull melancholy yes! It is the scattered papers and work folders that cause stress and oppression, especially if they have leaked even where you are resting. For example, in the bedroom. Here you sleep, relax, watch your favorite TV shows and spend time with your partner. This is a place of power, a place of tranquility. And documents from this harmony will not leave a stone unturned, bringing working energy into the room. The more territories are “marked” with documents, the more stress the house itself causes. Set aside one business space in your apartment. Let it be just an office or that part of the living room where your desk and laptop are.
2. Many mirrors in the house
There is not a single woman in the world who is completely satisfied with herself. “Here, to lose weight a little, then tighten up, then add, then it will be fine!” – as a rule, representatives of the fair sex speak about themselves this way. In this case, the presence of a large number of mirror surfaces in the house will only upset, undermine self-esteem, because, passing them, we automatically look at ourselves every time. In the end, all of this can lead to depression. On the other hand, it can lead to a diet and the gym, which is not so bad.
3. Dried flowers
Potted flowers, like any other flora, symbolize life. But if a houseplant looks lifeless or, even worse, already dead, the mere sight of it inspires depression and depressing effect. It is urgent to get rid of the dead plant. But completely without flowers is also bad. If you are no florist, get an unpretentious plant – there are many that do not need to be carefully looked after. And these are not cacti at all, but very interesting flowers.
By the way, this rule also applies to bouquets. Withered roses must be ruthlessly thrown into the trash.
4. Clutter in cabinets and shelves
Guests on the doorstep, the room is a mess. The solution is simple: shovel everything in a bunch, shove it out of sight in the closet – the express cleaning is done. And then leave it that way, forgetting to put things in real order. Yes, everything looks good, but you know that the mess has just migrated from an open place to a closed one. Such “lumps” of rubbish and disorder in things can provoke a feeling of chaos in life, lack of order in it. Well, yes, it’s so close to depression. Why aggravate the situation? Put on some music, take some time, and tidy cabinets, drawers and shelves. Wipe off the dust, throw away the excess – and it will become easier to breathe, and life will be more fun.
5. Dimensional furniture in a small house
In a huge mansion, large furniture will look harmonious and proportional. But in a small apartment, interior items of unequal size will morally crush, create a feeling of discomfort and just strain. Especially if they are dark in color. It is better to equip the house comfortably, so that the overall picture evokes only joy, a feeling of spaciousness and inspiration.
6. Expensive holiday sets
There are such in every third house: we got them by inheritance from grandmothers, mothers, as a gift for a wedding or birthday. As a rule, when such sets are presented, they say: “For special occasions.” Life goes on, and the service pompously stands on the most prominent shelf of the cabinet, and we have never used it. The question arises: were there really no special cases in life? It becomes somehow uncomfortable, and these sensations can drive you into deep depression. It’s time to change something! There are two options: take out the service and drink tea / coffee from it every day, thereby creating a festive mood for yourself. Or give the set to someone who really loves and appreciates such gifts and will use them with pleasure.
7. Unfinished hand-made
Many of us love to do handicrafts, develop ourselves creatively and create something creative and interesting. But often the fuse goes away, and unfinished things lie under the bed or on the farthest shelf and become overgrown with dust. Looking at them, it becomes sad, there is a feeling of incompleteness, sometimes even of their own worthlessness (especially for those who suffer from the habit of quitting what they started halfway through), the next stage is depression. What to do with such lack of hobby? Either finish and enjoy, or throw it away and also enjoy: freedom from old unfinished business and cleanliness in the room.
8. Damaged things
Broken equipment, a rickety door, cracked dishes, a leaking tap … When a lot of things in your own house cause an association with corruption in your head, the brain begins to perceive the house as such. What to do to rid yourself of such household depression? Do not glue the broken, but throw it away, do not let the torn on rags, but put it in a bag and leave it at the trash can. And even better – hand over for recycling: in many stores you can give away a bag of unnecessary things, even old and worn out life, and in return get a discount on the purchase of clothes in this shop.
9. Stopped clock
Everything in the world goes hand in hand with time, even life itself. And if the clock stops in the apartment, it is believed that the life of the house also freezes. There are worse signs about broken clocks, but let’s not talk about them. Even if it seems to you that this is not at all the case, that stationary arrows do not upset you, on a subconscious level it will be reflected on you. Stereotypes and superstitions about non-working hours have grown too deeply.
10. Things-associations
Or, as psychologists call them, anchors. Some things in our minds are strongly associated with events. For example, a mug given by a once loved one who broke your heart. Photos from a trip in which bad news caught up with you. Looking at them, you will repeatedly replay negative events associated with these things in your head. Such things, despite the memory, it is better to remove out of sight. And it’s better to get rid of them altogether.
