Novosibirsk ranks third in Russia in terms of population. It is a dynamically developing metropolis, the capital of the Siberian Federal District. But it cannot yet be called a city of skyscrapers. The average height of buildings is 30 m, the average number of storeys is four.
The first skyscraper – the hotel “Novosibirsk”, 23 floors high, was built in 1985. For a long time it remained the tallest building in the city. Since the beginning of the 2000s, Novosibirsk began to grow in height, new buildings gradually appear, changing its appearance.

The building with a height of 20 floors belongs to the elite class of real estate De Luxe. The beige-brown tones of the exterior are set off by a white terrace for relaxing on the roof.
The German Caparol technology was used in the facade decoration: the outer walls are insulated with basalt fiber slabs. A protective layer and a decorative coloring produced using nanotechnology are applied on top. The surrounding area is ennobled, there are places for recreation and a playground. The interior decoration of the halls and public areas is made of marble and other natural materials. From the windows you can see the city and the pine forest.
5. Residential complex “Zakamensky” | 85,7 m
Three high-rise buildings with facades of light and chocolate color LCD “Zakamensky” are located in the Oktyabrsky district in the Zakamensky microdistrict, 11. These are single-entrance 27-storey houses, the construction of which began in 2012. They are part of an architectural composition that includes two more houses 17 floors high. Nearby are the metro stations “Zolotaya Niva” and “Birch Grove”. Nearby is the Sibirsky Mall shopping mall.
4. LCD “Constellation” | 86 m
On Frunze Street in the Dzerzhinsky District, 2 km from the city center, a LCD “Constellation”. Its composition consists of three 27-storey buildings with semicircular bay windows 86 m high and two buildings of seventeen floors.
Night illumination gives them a resemblance to the constellations. Silver stained glass windows and light turquoise facades contrast with the surrounding buildings.
The complex is located next to the parks “Central” and “Birch Grove”, which offer panoramic views from the windows. The buildings are based on a monolithic reinforced concrete frame that can withstand an earthquake.
3. Residential building on the street. Communist, 50 | 87 m
One of the first skyscrapers in Novosibirsk – residential 20-storey building with administrative premises on the lower floors, was built in 2003 on the street. Communist, 50 in the Central District. This is the historical part of the city with a lot of old buildings. Previously, on the site of the “skyscraper” there were wooden barracks, unsuitable for habitation. Since the construction of this house, the appearance of the city began to change.
Because of its unusual architecture, the house was named “Siberian Batman”. Its outlines in the form of two towers with gold trim and spiers formed a recognizable skyline (urban panorama) of Novosibirsk.
The facade of the house is made of blue glass. In the early 2000s it took a lot of effort to get it. The glass was made in Tomsk. It is of a non-uniform color, which is why the facade seems to be painted in several shades of blue.
2. Residential complex “Gagarinsky” | 98 m
In the Zaeltsovsky district along Lineynaya street, 53/1, it was built in 2016. residential complex “Gagarinsky”. These are two houses with a height of 27 floors. One of them is crowned with a spire located on a roof fenced with snow-white columns. The spire, as conceived by the architect, ironically recalls the desire of a Soviet person to live in elite Moscow skyscrapers. The night illumination makes it visible against the black sky.
The yellow-brown giant does not harmonize with the surrounding area and its architecture, represented by nine-story panel buildings. It brings warm tones into the gray space.
The entrance of the Novosibirsk skyscraper is decorated with marbled tiles and stylish lighting. The complex itself belongs to the housing class “comfort”. The construction technology is based on the construction of a monolithic frame with its subsequent filling with bricks.
The surrounding area has a convenient infrastructure: 10 minutes to the Gagarinskaya metro station, schools, kindergartens, shops, landscaped areas and underground parking are nearby. The lower floors are office space. Thanks to soundproofing, the proximity of the railway does not interfere with staying in the house. This is one of the most comfortable skyscrapers for living in Novosibirsk.

Novosibirsk residents have a special attitude towards spiers. In pre-revolutionary times, merchants called the city, then Novo-Nikolaevsk, “Sibchikago”, comparing it with the American metropolis known for its skyscrapers. Residential complex “Kvarsis”, like several other skyscrapers in Novosibirsk (Gagarinsky, Batman, Zakamensky), is crowned with a spire.
Since 2015, Kvarsis has been leading the TOP 10 tallest buildings in Novosibirsk. A snow-white skyscraper of three sections was built in the Central District on the street. Families Shamshin, 20. The extreme sections have 22 floors each. Central section – 25 floors. This is the first and so far the only building in the city that has overcome the mark of 100 m.
High-rise trends in urban planning have reached Novosibirsk. His skyscrapers have overcome the milestone of 25 floors.
