The series “Soldiers” aired in 2004 and immediately became a hit. A huge audience gathered at the screens, and the jokes of the show’s heroes quickly went to the people.
Papazoglo, Vakutagin, Sokolov, Medvedev – everyone followed the life of these guys.
Over 10 years, 557 episodes were filmed, excluding spin-offs, but the very first ones are considered the best and funniest.
Today we will talk about the “backbone” of the old seasons, remembering our favorite actors and see what happened to them after filming ended.
10 Pavel Kassinsky (Ryleev)
Kassinsky made his film debut in 1990 when he was 14 years old. The role in the film “My Husband is an Alien” could give his career a good boost, but something did not work out.
As a result, he vegetated for a long time in the backyards of Russian cinema, until he was called to the first season of “Soldiers”. After he appeared in “Soldiers. Hello, company, new year! and had no more problems with work.
He was not given big roles, but his colorful appearance allowed him to make even episodic appearances in the frame memorable.
In recent years, he could be seen in the sitcom SashaTanya, in which he is still filming.
9. Yuri Safarov (Fomin)
The career of a Russian actor with Georgian roots began in 1994 with a cameo role in Blues. After that there was “My Border” and “Theater Blues”, and in the last tape his name was not even indicated in the credits.
The role of Sergeant Fomin became a breakthrough for him, although because of his appearance he was offered the same type of characters: Mujahideen, bandits, demobilizations, etc.
His last role was the film “Generation P” in 2011, after which he starred exclusively in television shows.
8. Alexander Fironov (Nesterov)
Alexander Fironov in “Soldiers” appeared in the second season, lasting until the eighth (also appeared in the 12th). He got into the series almost simultaneously with the end of GITIS and had every chance to build a successful career, but did not.
If you open his filmography, a small number of roles immediately catches the eye. In parallel with the “Soldiers”, Fironov did not act anywhere, and when he worked out his contract, he practically disappeared from the radar.
Episodic appearances in “Poor People” and “Fizruk” – that’s the whole career. However, he is only 36 years old, so if he wants, he will certainly be able to catch up.
7. Pavel Galich (Lavrov)
The same age as Fironov, Galich graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School in 2004 and also got into the second season of “Soldier”, at the same time starting work at the Yermolova Theater.
In addition, he starred in other projects: the Ukrainian TV series Taxi, Once Upon a Time in Rostov, Kitchen, Univer, Policeman from Rublyovka, etc.
You can see him in many popular TV projects, although his roles are far from visible everywhere.
6. Maxim Maltsev (Papazoglo)
Anton Papazoglo, played by Maltsev, was one of the funniest characters in the early seasons, creating the role of a comedian for the actor.
Not wanting to work all his life only in this genre, he devoted a lot of time to his studies, graduating from GITIS and the Shchukin Theater Institute. After that, in 2009, he directed the film “Reassessment”, and also directed several performances.
His filmography is not the richest, but there are high-profile projects: Capercaillie, Kitchen, Quiet Don, Sorge, etc.
5. Amadu Mamadakov (Vakutagin)
The colorful appearance and manner of speech made Amada one of the main stars of the series, since Vakutagin in his performance turned out to be extremely convincing. When he appears in the frame, you want not only to smile, but also to believe the hero.
A little stupid, but at the same time an honest and kind guy from the village evoked sympathy from the viewer and was always the main one in the frame, overshadowing others with his charm. Vivid episodic images are Mamadakov’s trick, which he learned to use to the fullest.
In addition to Vakutagin, he played in the series “Happy Together” and the military drama “9th Company”, and also directed several theatrical productions.
As an actor, he appears on the stage of the theater more often than he stands in front of the camera, considering cinema and TV series a less honest art form.
4. Alexander Palchikov (Kabanov)
The big, good-natured and stupid Private Kabanov became the first major role of Palchikov, and so far he has not played anything more significant.
In the series “Soldiers” his hero lived a lifetime: he rose to the rank of corporal, was demoted to a private and went to the demobilization. And how many funny situations were with his participation …
It is noteworthy that immediately after this, the actor signed a contract for filming in the series “Students”, where his hero was a corporal who had just come from the army. There was not a word about the fact that this is still the same Kabanov, but the viewer perceived him that way.
Now Palchikov continues to act, receiving mostly small roles. At 34, he has every chance of getting a role that will outshine private (corporal) Kabanov and show the actor from a different angle.
3. Ivan Mokhovikov (Sokolov)
The Mokhoviks character was the most serious of all the military in the series: responsibility and conscientiousness were often higher than those of the officers.
At the same time, Sokolov, on an equal footing with everyone, loved and knew how to joke and relax, he just did it wisely.
“Falcon”, as ensign Shmatko called him, starred in all seasons, rising to the rank of senior lieutenant.
2. Anton Eldarov (Gunko)
Anton Eldarov is one of the most versatile people on our list. He is not only a talented film actor, but also a voice actor, as well as a musician. At various times, he performed as part of several indie bands, creating music not only for himself, but also for films.
In recent years, he has been doing just that, duplicating foreign films and series in parallel.
1. Alexander Lymarev (Medvedev)
Let’s finish the selection with the main “heartthrob” of the series, which could turn heads not only to the nurse from the medical unit, but also to thousands of spectators.
After the end of the show, his career, contrary to expectations, did not go up: he focused more on his family and work in the theater.
His last major role can be considered the appearance in the “Yellow Eye of the Tiger” in 2018.
