An ideal vacation for many is inextricably linked with the azure sea, the bright sun and the warm sea. But, if you like to sit in silence, listening to the sound of raindrops on the windows, or prefer walking in the rain, you should go to a place where such weather is not uncommon.
10 Kikori, Papua New Guinea
The state of Papua New Guinea is located in the eastern part of the island in the western Pacific Ocean. It is located near Australia. This country is always hot and humid. In some areas it rains around the clock, at any time of the year. Especially a lot of precipitation happens on small islands. One of the places where it constantly rains is the settlement of Kikori, built in the delta of the river of the same name. The amount of precipitation falling in this region is 5840 mm.
9. Andagoya, Colombia
This settlement has become widely known due to its warm climate. Here almost the whole year the same temperature, which is equal to 27 degrees. Interestingly, the temperature difference between the winter and summer months is minimal, 0,7 degrees. This region is one of the “wettest”. The driest month is December, when about 500 mm of precipitation is recorded, and the rainiest month is May, when 650 mm falls. On average, there are 6817 of them. And interestingly, in tropical forests, precipitation usually falls during the day, and in Andagoya – at night.

Vancouver Island is located on the west coast of Canada. Its hard-to-reach places are still covered with ancient forests. The island has a humid climate, so many trees here reach extraordinary heights. So, here you can admire the tallest spruce in Canada, which has grown to 95m, although usually these trees do not exceed 30-50m in height. Not surprisingly, one of the rainiest places is located on the same island. This is Henderson Lake, in southwestern Canada. Almost 7 thousand millimeters of precipitation falls in the area located near this lake.
7. Bellenden Ker Range, Australia
The state of Queensland is located in the northeastern part of Australia. In its northern part, the Bellenden Ker mountain range stretches for 65 km. This region is considered the wettest in Australia. The sky during the rainy season is constantly covered with clouds, the humidity of the air is kept at around 85%. The air temperature is uniformly high, from 24 to 26 degrees. The height of the mountain is 1593 m. The annual rainfall in this region is 8312 mm. Interestingly, Australia itself is considered one of the driest continents, it receives 5 times less precipitation than Africa.

In Choco is the city of Quibdo, located in an area of impenetrable jungle. Especially attractive for lovers of ecological tourism, because. unique flora and fauna here. Rare plant species cannot be found in other parts of the world. Kibdo is famous for its wine, as winemaking has been practiced here since colonial times. Once Choco was a region with huge reserves of precious metals. Choco is considered one of the rainiest regions on Earth. The rainfall in Kibdo is from 8989 to 10700 mm per year, but in 1939 a record was recorded – 15058 mm. The level of recorded precipitation in the whole of Choco is 8500 mm, but the record was set in 1947, when 3569 mm fell here. It was in July.

This is a small village located in Faco. It was built near the Cameroon volcano, near this village there is a lake. The climate in this region of Africa is subequatorial, i.e. a relatively dry winter is followed by a rainy summer. Average annual temperatures are around 26 degrees. This region is considered the wettest place in Africa, so there is no dry season. The southwest equatorial monsoon brings with it heavy rainfall. On average, it rains about 200 days a year in Debunj. It falls up to 10287 mm per year. 1919 was a particularly “wet” year. at this time, the average rainfall reached a record high of 14680 mm.
4. Waialeale, USA
On one of the islands of Hawaii, Kauai, in the very middle, there is an ancient volcano that has long since died out. It is often referred to as the wettest place on the planet. This place has been watched since 1912. About 11684 mm of precipitation falls here. In 1982, there was a record number of them – almost 17 thousand mm. Interestingly, it rarely rains here. Most often there is a light rain or a drizzle appears. The whole peak is, as it were, in a haze, covered with a layer of fog. This amount of rain is due to the fact that the island is located in the north, so it falls under the influence of strong atmospheric fronts in the cold season. Also, the increased humidity is explained by moisture-carrying winds that blow from all sides of the island, which is shaped like a cone. The top of the volcano is a plateau on which there is a small lake.
3. Cherrapunji, India
This is a small town with about 10 thousand inhabitants. It is considered one of the most famous places on the planet in terms of humidity, which receives about 11777 mm of precipitation per year. It was here that the largest amount of precipitation fell in 12 months, about 26471 mm. The record was also set for the number of precipitation that fell during the month – 9299 mm. Due to regular rains, the soils here are poor, they are constantly washed out by water. The coolest time of the year is from November to February.

This settlement is located near Cherrapunji, only 16 km. It is also one of the rainiest places in the world, with up to 11872 mm of rainfall.

This town is located in the department of Choco, famous for its humidity, next to the town of Atrato, in the upper reaches of the river that bears the same name. Up to 13300 mm of precipitation fell here during the year. Agriculture is well developed in this area, crops such as sugar cane and bananas grow well. In this region, it is quite warm, because. the average temperature is kept at around 28 degrees.
