Various TV shows are very popular, both among foreigners and among residents of Russia.
Numerous viewers regularly gather at television screens to laugh heartily at Urgant’s funny phrases or to guess the words in the Field of Miracles program.
Few people know that many popular TV shows are actually copied from Western shows. However, there are Russian copy programs that turned out to be very interesting.
10 “The Weakest Link”
The rules of the game in different versions of the TV show do not differ significantly from each other. The program “The Weak Link” was shown in Russia in 2001-2005.
The host of the show was Maria Kiseleva. The British show ran from 2000-2012 and was hosted by Ann Robinson.
By giving correct answers to questions, team members create a chain. The longer the chain built, the more money at stake. If someone answers incorrectly, the chain of answers is broken, and it has to be created again.
9. “One Hundred to One” (Family Showdown)
The American show Family Feud has been broadcast since the 70s, and its domestic counterpart One Hundred to One since 1995.
Players must answer various questions that were previously asked to passers-by on the street. The winner is determined after several rounds.
Celebrities who are united by some business usually take part in the domestic program. Members of two families participate in the foreign show. Winners of several games in a row receive a car.
8. “Guess the melody” (Name That Tune)
Name That Tune has been broadcast since the middle of the XNUMXth century. Two participants in the game competed with each other to determine who could guess the most songs from the tunes. The winning player received the money.
After a while there were a lot of TV shows similar to Name That Tune. In the mid-90s, the Guess the Melody program appeared on Russian television screens. Valdis Pelsh became its host. The ideological inspirer and creator of the TV show “Guess the Melody” was Vladislav Listyev.
7. “Battle of Psychics” (Telepathic challenge to Britain)
Not only the inhabitants of Russia are interested in psychics and witches. A TV show, in which people took part, confident in the presence of unusual abilities and wishing to demonstrate them, appeared in the UK. It was called Britain’s Psychic Challenge.
The first season of Battle of the Psychics, the Russian analogue of Britain’s Psychic Challenge, was released on television in 2007. Since then, a large number of seasons of this program have appeared.
Many do not doubt that this show is staged. During the existence of the program, it turned out that many of its participants are ordinary charlatans.
6. “The Voice” (The Voice)
The Voice is a Dutch vocal competition that has been broadcast on Dutch television since 2010. “Voice” is the domestic version of this program. Our show aired in 2012.
In terms of format, the Russian counterpart strictly corresponds to the original TV show (starting with a loft-style studio and ending with the rotation of the judges’ chairs in one direction). Analogues of the show The Voice from other countries also correspond to the original.
5. “Fear Factor” (Fear Factor)
Fear Factor is an American TV show that became the prototype of the Russian show Fear Factor. The domestic program has been broadcast on NTV since 2002. When the TV game began to be broadcast in Russia, it was already successfully shown to viewers in different countries of the world.
At first, the American program Fear Factor was only translated in our country, and then the Fear Factor game appeared.
The tests that the participants go through are very difficult. They have to lie in a bath with spiders, snakes, boiled rats, bull’s eyes, cow intestines.
4. “Evening Urgant” (Jimmy Kimmel live)
The program “Evening Urgant” was copied from the American TV show Jimmy Kimmel. A lot of things coincide: the studio, the manner of communication and even the furniture that the presenter uses. Jimmy Kimmel has a wonderful sense of humor. He hosted the Oscars for two years in a row.
Ivan Urgant’s sense of humor can also be called unsurpassed. His TV show discusses various current events, heroes, new music and more.
3. “Who wants to be a millionaire” (Who wants to be a millionaire)
In both telecasts, participants must give correct answers to questions asked by the hosts. Players have to choose one answer from several. During the game, you can use various tips, but their number is limited.
Now a participant can receive several million rubles (previously only one million was available). In 1999, the Russian TV show was called “Oh, lucky!” and aired on the NTV channel. Then the program was broadcast on Channel One.
2. “Own game” (Take a risk!)
“Take a risk!” (Jeopardy!) is a popular American game show that first aired in the 60s. Its Russian counterpart is the show “Own Game”, hosted by Pyotr Kuleshov. At
private traders must answer various questions. If the answer is correct, the specified amount is transferred to the player’s account. If the answer is incorrect, the participant loses the points scored. The winner is the one who scores the most points.
1. “Field of Miracles” (Wheel of Fortune)
Wheel of Fortune is a popular foreign show that began airing in the 70s. “Field of Miracles”, the Russian analogue of the American TV show, appeared much later – in the early 90s.
The host thinks of a word, and the players guess it, gradually opening the letters. The participants of the game spin a big drum, which is divided into several sectors: a chance to get a car key, a bankrupt, a prize, and so on. In the American TV show, the players accumulate money, and in the Russian one, they accumulate points.
