10 myths about innocence

How much does it cost to start? Where to do it for the first time? With whom? And is the contraceptive so important?

10 myths about innocence

There are so many myths and legends associated with virginity that it is not surprising to get confused. We will try to confirm or deny the most common of them.

Myth number 1. Everyone starts at 13-14 years old

Who is “everyone”? Teenagers just talk a lot about THIS, for lack of any other way to prove their “adulthood” and independence. The average age at the onset of sexual activity among Russians is 16,2 years (on average in the world – 17,4). Moreover, the age of sexual debut directly depends on well-being in the family, on intelligence and level of education, and, of course, on the level of self-esteem. So, up to 16 years old, 1 out of 4 schoolchildren started; among students of vocational schools – every second.

Myth number 2. The hymen thickens over the years – and the later you lose your innocence, the more difficult it is

In fact, the anatomical structure of the hymen, the size of its holes and density are very individual and depend not on age, but on the characteristics of your body. If she was elastic at the age of 18, then by the age of 28 she will not “grow stiff”.

Myth number 3. Early onset of sexual activity is harmful to health

Not a myth. The hymen is a barrier to infections for the period until the end of the protective microflora (on average – up to 18-19 years). In addition, girls have a very thin epithelium of the walls of the vagina (its formation ends by the age of 17-18) – it is easily injured during intercourse. All this often leads to the development of inflammatory processes, which can subsequently lead to adhesions and infertility.

Myth number 4. Late onset of sexual activity is harmful to health

Earlier, even among doctors, it was believed that migraines, ovarian dysfunction and even acne were the result of prolonged virginity. Some of these diseases can indeed be hormone-related and depend on the regularity of sexual activity (and the regularity of orgasms!), But not on the presence of a hymen.

There are many known cases when women who first “got to know” a man at the age of 28, 30, 35, safely became pregnant and gave birth. The gynecological problems of “old maids” are not associated with virginity as such, but with another myth.

Myth number 5. Those who are not sexually active do not have to go to a gynecologist

It is best for mom to show you to the pediatric gynecologist at the age of 6-7. But if there is no such doctor in your city, then after the first menstruation you should take care of yourself and attend antenatal clinic at least once a year: at the initial stage, almost all diseases are treatable.

Myth number 6. Defloration is a painful and bloody process

It happens, of course, that a large vessel is touched and the dream of medieval knights comes true – a bloody sheet. If after the first sexual contact the pain does not go away for a long time, if the bleeding does not stop for more than 2 days, then you should consult a doctor to rule out tears of the vaginal walls.

But in a normal situation, especially if the girl is very aroused (and therefore, there is a lot of natural lubrication in her vagina), there may be no blood or pain at all.

They put on the floor and filmed: in Uzbekistan, the groom’s relatives checked the bride for chastity

Myth No. 7. The first sexual partner must be older and more experienced.

At least it is desirable. An experienced partner will have the patience and skill to bring the “newbie” to a high degree of arousal.

Myth # 8. It’s best to lose your virginity in the bathtub.

Really warm water relaxes muscles and nerves, prevents spasms – and thus reduces pain. But the water washes away the natural lubrication of the vagina. In addition, in typical domestic baths, only experienced lovers can have sex without traumatic consequences. Therefore, the bath can be used for foreplay, and then get into bed.

Myth # 9. A condom hurts more.

Vice versa! Condoms relieve pain because almost all modern rubber products are coated with a special lubricant that makes it easier to slip. They cannot interfere with defloration, because in this process, excuse me, it is not the condom that is important, but the organ that is clothed in it.

Myth number 10. You can’t get pregnant the first time

Can! Therefore, start taking combined hormonal contraceptives in advance, even at the stage of courtship and joint walks.
