Viggo Mortensen is an American actor of Danish origin. He was the lover of Gwyneth Paltrow’s character in A Perfect Murder and suffered from the tough character of Demi Moore’s character in G.I. Jane, but it was the trilogy that brought him real fame.
Peter Jackson’s The Lord of the Rings. For many, Viggo Mortensen has become the ideal Aragorn, which the creators of the new series are also guided by.
But the actor has played many more roles that are worthy of attention.
10 Witness | 1985
Harrison Ford played the title role in the film and tells the story of a boy who witnessed a brutal crime at a train station in Philadelphia.
Viggo Mortensen was given a very tiny role and a couple of lines there, but this film is really worthy of the attention of the audience, not for nothing that he received two Oscar statuettes.
Viggo’s fans edited a separate video with scenes from the film in which the actor appeared, and added arrows so that no one would miss his appearance in the frame.
9. Appaloosa | in 2008
Two friends, played by Viggo Mortensen and Ed Harris, arrive in a town terrorized by a local rancher. The police, who were supposed to protect the residents, prefer not to notice anything, moreover, the representative of the law is not enthusiastic about the guests.

7. Dangerous method | 2011
The plot of the film directed by David Cronenberg is based on the confrontation between the two pillars of psychoanalysis: Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, as well as their relationship with the charming Sabina Spielrein.
The action takes place in the atmosphere of the approaching World War I and is based on real events. Spielrein will have to cope with childhood traumas and tantrums, Jung, a faithful follower of his teacher, will come into conflict with him.
The cast is excellent: Viggo Mortensen as Signund Freud, Michael Fassbender as Carl Gustav Jung, and charming Keira Knightley as Sabine Spielrein.
6. Way of Carlito | 1993
In the film, Al Pacino played the role of Carlito Brigante, a drug dealer who had just been released from prison. He dreams of meeting Gail, his mistress, to move away from criminal affairs and to start a legal business.
But the criminal world just does not let go. First, help is needed for his nephew, and then for Dave Kleinfeld, a lawyer and friend of Brigante, who helped him get out of prison early.
Feeling obligated, Carlito agrees to one last case. Viggo Mortensen made a cameo appearance in the film.

Peter Farrelly’s Green Book is based on a true story. In it, the intelligent Viggo Mortensen skillfully tries on the role of Tony Vallelong, nicknamed “Chatterbox”.
This is a simple man, moonlighting as a bouncer, not distinguished by manners and education. He is hired as a driver for Don Shirley, a campy and wealthy black pianist.
The musician has to tour the southern United States and needs a reliable person.
On the way, Tony will have to use the Green Book, a special edition that collects safe places, restaurants and hotels for a traveling black. This trip will be a turning point in the lives of two men and the beginning of a strong friendship.
4. Justified cruelty | 2004
The film is based on the DC Comics comic of the same name. Directed by David Cronenberg.
Two bandits are driving around the States, leaving a trail of blood behind them. Checking out of the motel, they kill everyone they meet on the way.
But appearing in big cities is dangerous, and they go to the small town of Millbrook. There, they enter a diner where the owner, Tom Stoll, and his family were.
Protecting relatives, Tom kills criminals. The next day, an expensive car pulls up outside the Stolls’ house, and people show up at the diner who claim that Tom is not the man he claims to be.
3. Hidalgo | 2004
The Sea of Fire is the oldest and most prestigious Arabian horse race in the Arabian Desert. For a long time only Arabs had the right to participate there, but this time the sheikh called a stranger. They became Frank T. Hopkins, his parent was white, and his mother came from an Indian tribe.
Frank had a ranch in Wyoming, where his faithful horse Hidalgo grew up, a large, squat horse, which will have an exhausting ride, a true test of the character of both animal and man, their endurance and friendship.
The director of the picture presented the story as based on the biography of Frank T. Hopkins, but historians have said that it does not stand up to scrutiny.
The origin of the protagonist and the races are an invention of the screenwriters, but the film does not lose anything from this.
2. Captain Fantastic | 2016
