3. Hannibal (2001)
We decided not to reinvent the wheel and end the selection with three films all about the same Hannibal Lecter, which tell about different stages of his life.
«Hannibal“- the fourth film in the chronology and tells about the events that took place 10 years after the doctor’s escape from custody. He settled well in Italy, and Clarissa Starling still serves in the FBI.
The operation to detain a dangerous criminal under her command does not go according to plan and people die, for which Starling begins to persecute the media. At the same time, Hannibal gets in touch with her, who, although from a distance, still follows her life.
Among other things, the film is notable for at least two details: firstly, instead of Jodie Foster, the role of Clarissa is played by Julianne Moore (Foster wanted too much money, Moore perfectly got used to the role for a more modest fee), and secondly, the doctor is shown with a completely different side: humane, loving and ready to sacrifice himself, no matter how wild it may sound.
