«Diary of Anne Frank” is a film based on real events. The girl kept records in Dutch from June 12, 1942 to August 1, 1944 during the Nazi occupation.
Anne Frank is a 13-year-old Jewish girl who witnessed World War II. She, her sister Margot and their parents hide in an abandoned attic for 2 years to escape Nazi persecution.
The action takes place in Amsterdam. In addition to them, the attic also stops: Mr. Dassel – a dentist by profession, the Van Daah family and their son.

8. Life is Beautiful (1997)
Sometimes, so that loved ones do not worry, they have to be deceived … And hold on with all their might. So did the hero of the film “Life is beautiful».
World War II. Father and son were sent to a concentration camp for Jews, and an Italian woman, of her own free will, followed her family.
Arriving at the camp, the father told the boy that all he would see was just a game, and if he managed not to catch the eye of the guards, he would win a real tank. The man wanted to save his child, so he made an effort to make his son believe in the reality of the game and behave quietly, hiding in the barracks.
“Life is Beautiful” – this is the film, after watching which you will not regret the time spent. It touches those spiritual strings that, sometimes, you don’t even see in yourself …
7. Living with Wolves (2007)
1941, Belgium. The girl Misha was left completely alone, as her parents were deported. The girl decides to go east to find them.

6. Addiction (1997)
World War II. Max is a gay guy who is sent to the Dachau concentration camp. He tries to deny his sexuality and is given a yellow patch (the kind that was meant for Jews) which he is forced to wear.
At the camp, Max meets Horse, and falls in love with him. He wears a pink triangular patch (like those worn by gays in concentration camps) and is not at all ashamed of who he really is.
Both men try in a place full of horror to somehow forget themselves with the help of the love that has arisen between them.
Film “inclination“permeated with suffering, pain, the director perfectly managed to convey the mood and atmosphere of those times.
5. The Pianist (2002)
Film “Pianistbased on the autobiography of one of the best pianists in Poland in the 30s, Wladyslaw Shpilman.
The new rules no longer allow the musician to touch the piano, now he is an outcast. The life of all Jews is changed, because they are placed in the Warsaw ghetto. Vladek has to adapt to a new place and survive in terrible conditions.
He is forced to work and wear an eyepatch that says he is Jewish. Not everyone succeeds in surviving in the ghetto, as he will understand later. By order of the Nazis, all Jews are transported to a concentration camp, but he was lucky – Vladek is saved by his friend, hiding him in his apartment. But even there, the pianist feels unsafe, he is forced to be in constant fear and survive. He hopes to return to music one day…
4. Schindler’s List (1993)
«Schindler’s list“- a film based on real events about the mysterious Oskar Schindler. He was a member of the Nazi Party who saved nearly 1200 Jews from death during World War II.
Oskar arrives in Poland, intending to start production in the city of Krakow. He has an impeccable way of doing business, so he quickly acquires useful connections.
Schindler recruits Jewish prisoners to his factory, thereby saving on labor. The year is 1939, for permission to sometimes get out of the ghetto, the Jews are ready for a lot, therefore, we can say that Oscar’s adventure was a success.
The products that the Jews create sell very well. Things are going well, but the SS officer, Amon Goeth, has completely different plans … He wants to send all the Jews to Auschwitz, but Schindler will try to save at least one of them.
3. Goodbye Kids (1987)
«Goodbye children“- a picture inspired by a dramatic event from the childhood of 11-year-old Louis Malle. In January 1944, a Jewish boy was taken to the Gestapo right in the middle of a lesson.
Director Louis Malle says of it: “This moment turned my whole life upside down, a lot of time has already passed, but I decided to put all my tenderness and memory into my script».
Friends never met again – one of them became a director, and the other was sent to a concentration camp.
The film tells a story from life – in a Catholic college in France, Jews find shelter for themselves, but one of them, a Frenchman, becomes close to a Jewish boy. The police, on someone’s tip, find out about what is happening, and the children, along with the rector, are taken to the Gestapo.
2. Empire of the Sun (1987)
1942 World War II. The Japanese invade Shanghai and it happens that the English boy Jim Graham is left without his family.
During the wanderings in the film “Empire of the Sun» Jim finds a friend – the boy’s name is Basie. They end up in a prison camp together.
In the midst of a terrible atmosphere, lack of food, Jim fights for survival as best he can, enduring betrayal … Jim, despite all the horror, tries to maintain his honor and dignity.
Japan was capitulated. Jim has gone from being a joyful kid from a wealthy family to a tormented teenager, but at last, having gone through all the horrors, he will see his parents again…
1. Run Boy Run (2013)
This is a story about an 8-year-old boy who lost his family, escaped from the Warsaw ghetto and received help from other kind people.
One Polish woman gives the boy shelter and advises him to lie to everyone, saying that he is a Catholic and a Pole, this will help him in the future. Due to some circumstances, the boy is forced to leave the house of the woman who sheltered him and go on a dangerous journey … Thanks to Polish families, the boy tries to survive the horrors of the occupation.
«Run boy, run”is a film for the soul, based on the book of the same name by Uri Orlev. The film is beautifully shot and very emotional, it is worth seeing for everyone.
