1. Lily forever (2002)
Drama directed and written by Lucas Moodysson. Movie “Lily forever”is based on real events, on the story of Danguole Rasalayte. This 16-year-old Lithuanian girl fell into sexual slavery, and, unable to stand it, jumped off the bridge. After her, there were farewell letters, which served as the basis for the script.
The result was a gloomy picture, permeated with hopelessness and despair. She tells about the 16-year-old girl Lila, who was abandoned by her mother, having moved to America with her lover. She falls in love with a handsome guy Andrei and leaves with him for Sweden.
Interestingly, the picture was filmed in Russian, our compatriots also played in it. She was nominated for many awards, including the Oscar, some of which she was able to win. The result is a difficult, thoughtful film, but deeply depressing, which is not easy to watch from the very beginning. But it is worth watching, if only because it is based on real events, i.e. the girl really had to go through this horror, and her life can be a warning to others.
