10 most unusual interior design trends – 2020

White is no longer in vogue, but photomurals are back! And the main room in the house is the entrance hall. What else have the designers prepared for us?

Arched furniture

Strict geometry is no longer in vogue. Now – soft lines, semicircular outlines. Designers promise that arches will be everywhere: even in the form of a back of a sofa or a chair, even in doorways (yes, like in zero). In the next few years, this trend will only grow.

Main room – hallway

Oops, this is no longer an inconspicuous room that we used to think of as a place where outdoor shoes are located and outerwear is stored. Now it is the space that is the first to greet the person who enters the house. There should be cute rugs, pictures, and flowers.

Art furniture

That is, one that is not only functional, but also beautiful. If you gravitate towards arthouse or modern in the interior, designers will offer you whimsical chairs that can even take the place of an exhibit in an art gallery. At the same time, solid furniture made from environmentally friendly materials is in fashion – for connoisseurs of classic interiors. Experts predict a surge in interest in antiques and vintage furnishings this year. So do not rush to part with your grandmother’s interior.

Sculptural lamps

Not just light, but light that has form. This year, designers are focusing on pendant lamps with unusual lampshades. Moreover, zoning with light is becoming more and more fashionable. Experts say that a properly hung lamp can completely change the look of a room.

And the most fashionable trend is customizable LED lighting, when, depending on the time of day or year, mood or event, you can change not only the intensity, but also the color of the lighting. Automatically, such systems adjust the lighting to the time of day so that a person is as comfortable as possible.

Photo Wall Mural

Western designers bashfully call the new old fashion “murals”. Yes, wall art is back in vogue. This trend logically grew out of the accent wall: now the monochromatic covering of one of the walls is the last century. But the Tuscan landscape is the last peep. More nature!

By the way, if you don’t want to part with your plain accent wall, keep in mind that there are two colors in fashion – bright blue and bright green. Well, or at least a bright pillow or any other accessory in these colors should be in the house.

Transparent furniture

Acrylic or glass furniture is a trend especially relevant for small apartments. Transparent chairs, tables, and other interior items visually save space, a kind of ghost furniture. That is, a fashionable trend that is also as functional as possible.

White – retired

Everyone is still crazy about white walls, considering them to be almost the only sign of a stylish interior. However, from this year on, white is no longer held in high esteem by designers. It will be replaced by warmer neutral shades – ivory, ivory, dark gray.

Botany in prints

Back to nature – the motto is gaining momentum. Not only are environmentally friendly and natural materials in great demand, but there will also be more and more botany accessories in accessories. These are prints on wallpaper, textiles, and even the most important color of the year in the interior – “meditative dawn” – and the notorious “frescoes” – all designed to add more life to city apartments. By the way, live plants are also in vogue. Increasingly, flowers are used as decoration.

Frosted taps

We are used to seeing these parts chrome, with a shiny glossy surface. The gloss of its positions as a whole does not give up, but not in this case – the taps are now laconic, matte in fashion.
