Everyone’s favorite series “The Big Bang Theory” has been pleasing viewers for many years. His characters became adored by the public and gained many fans.

10 Names and surnames of heroes
At first, the authors of the series wanted to name the main characters Penny, Kenny and Leni. But later, scientists picked up other names, in honor of the famous actor Sheldon Leonard. He worked on television in the 1930s and 90s.
Surnames were borrowed from scientists who received Nobel Prizes in physics. Leon Neil Cooper was born in 1930 and is now 89 years old. Once, together with his colleagues, he created the “BCS-theory”, Cooper’s electron pairs are named after him.
Robert Hofstadter was an experimental physicist, born in 1915, died at 75. His work was devoted to nuclear physics and high energy physics.
The scientist’s neighbor Penny never had a last name, if any. But in the letters that came to her name, the surname “London” was indicated. The creators of the series chose her in honor of Scott London, who was in charge of props.

All the titles of the episodes of the series are the titles of real experiments, theories. But there is one exception. The first episode was simply titled “Pilot”.
8. Compliance with science
The series was not created for educational purposes, but rather for the entertainment of viewers. But, nevertheless, the authors would not want the main characters to speak nonsense from the screen, disappointing millions of viewers.
Therefore, a scientific consultant was invited. It checks all scripts, dialogs, and even formulas so that there are no obvious errors. The consultant was David Saltzberg, professor of physics and astronomy at the University of California.
Due to the popularity of the series, other people are enriched. So, Dave Zobel wrote a book specifically for fans of The Big Bang Theory, where he tries to explain all the scientific terms from the series to people far from physics.

5. Ambiguous title
The series is called “The Big Bang Theory”, because. It is this cosmological model of the origin of the Universe that is generally accepted. This name is quite understandable, because. the main characters are physicists.
But it also has a second meaning. In English, it is written as “The Big Bang Theory”. The word “bang” can be translated in many ways, including with sexual overtones.

The show’s costume designer, Mary Quigley, revealed that Howard Wolowitz dresses in a way that appeals to women. He is sure that tight trousers, colorful shirts worn over turtlenecks and an original buckle are what you need to catch the eye of the ladies.
The buckles on the belt are its feature. An attentive viewer should have noticed that he constantly changes them. The costume designer explained that they are selected according to the mood of this hero. In episode 21 of season 5, viewers get to see his entire collection when Howard forces Sheldon to clean all of his buckles.

The series has become very popular, millions of viewers are looking forward to continuing. In Belarus, the CTB television company decided to create its own series called The Theorists in 2009. But she made a number of serious mistakes.
“The First Belarusian Sitcom” turned out to be a copy of the original series, the authors copied everything, even the jokes. And the copyright has not been purchased. The creators of The Big Bang Theory could not help but react to the appearance of a clone.
A text was posted on Chuck Lorre’s website, where he speaks sarcastically about the new Belarusian series. He writes that they wanted to protect their copyrights, but, as it turned out, their company cannot sue, because. STV is owned by the government of Belarus. And he hopes that, out of remorse, they will still agree to pay, at least by sending him a shipment of felt hats.
The creators of The Theorists stopped filming after episode 4. They hope that the whole story will soon be forgotten.
