People go to the cinema to have fun. Sometimes the soul asks for a tearful melodrama. Sometimes you want to reflect philosophically on the mysteries of being and the incomprehensibility of the mind. Marvel at fantastic worlds and situations.
But it happens that on the screen you just have to run, jump and shoot. To have chases, riddles, charming noble heroes and their beautiful ladies. In general, I want a primitive action movie.
In this case, superagents of terribly secret and terribly powerful special services come to the rescue. And the first in their row will, of course, be James Bond.
10 007: Skyfall coordinates
Invented by Ian Fleming (who was once a spy and saboteur himself), Her Majesty’s Secret Service superspy is not only super agile and super charming. Judging by the length of his career, James Bond, moreover, is immortal like Kashchei.
In 2012, “007” is still young, cheerful and bulletproof. True, the charming Sean Connery managed to grow old, and Bond took on the guise of Daniel Craig. However, the super agent is getting a new look. The rest is a classic. Chase, shooting, charming beauties. “Mix, but do not shake.”
9. Bourne’s Evolution
The Americans also decided that a nimble handsome man would not interfere with the CIA’s delicate assignments. American writer and screenwriter Robert Ludlum (clearly in defiance of Ian Fleming) cut a hefty pile of detective stories about a super agent named Jason Bourne.
In The Bourne Evolution, the protagonist attacks the trail of yet another nursery of super agents – the US Department of Defense is fiercely jealous of the CIA and is developing its own technology.
True, the technology is not without flaws, which Jason finds out for certain and stops the disgrace. Bourne runs, jumps and shoots at the same time and races with Bond (2012), only on the other side of the ocean.
8. Nikita (1990)
How do they get into superagents? What technical school gives such a specialty? A young French woman named Nikita in the 1990 film of the same name did not at all strive to become a “super”. For a young drug addict, a street gang, beer and drugs were enough for happiness.
Until she made the mistake of accidentally killing a cop. Here she was offered a choice: to “die” for society, becoming an invisible agent. Or die for real. Nikita chose an interesting high-paying job with business trips abroad. And, it seems, did not lose.
7. Three Days of the Condor
And then there are agents whose service, at first glance, is boring to the point of yawning and safe as duty in a kindergarten. However, no one guarantees them the absence of adventures. The American journalist James Grady in 1974 wrote a thrilling action movie “Six Days of the Condor” on this topic. According to which the widescreen blockbuster “Three Days of the Condor” was immediately filmed.
The main character is a small clerical fry. What can be dangerous in leafing through ancient detective stories and dusty newspaper files with urban chronicles? The dangerous thing is that you send reviews of the most original plot twists to the CIA analytics department.

5. Digital radio station
In the same 2012, the British are shooting their film about the “quiet woman in exile”. Magnificent John Cusack plays a fined operative agent, who, it seems, has nothing to kill for – but it’s already scary to let him go abroad.
Quiet and terribly boring English outback will give the guy time to think. Let him be sad for now on duty in a deaf underground bunker, where the only company he has is a girl – an announcer. From time to time reciting meaningless abracadabra on the air.
The retiree did not guess. Having once found a shot shift when taking over on duty, an experienced militant understands that it’s time to move on. At the same time, unravel the complex tangle of lies and betrayal (and, along the way, save your girlfriend).
4. Agent Johnny English: Reloaded
Such a fertile genre could not be ignored by parodists. “The same Mr. Bean” (British comedian Rowan Atkinson) in 2011 with pleasure portrayed a super agent on the screen.
In Johnny English Reloaded, his character is going through a moral crisis. His cases were taken away from him, he was stripped of his title and his salary was cut. In fact, they were fired.
But a super agent cannot live without his favorite job! And the tireless English is waiting for his chance. The Secret Service of Her Majesty calls to battle again! And even gives a ride on a supercar. With such support, Johnny knows no barriers!
3. Playing for high stakes
The British know how to shoot parodies not only at the level of a fair booth. In 2008, together with the Belgians and Germans, they shot a satirical pamphlet on the topic of globalization and the practice of shameless interference by the “powerful ones” in the fate of entire nations.
In the movie Big Game, John Cusack plays the role of an unscrupulous professional killer. His hero does not care which special service to work for and the delicate tasks of which of the bigwigs of business to perform. If only they paid. And for the sake of supporting a profitable commercial project, you can even arrange a small military coup in a single country.
2. Smoking
Jackie Chan willingly directs and shoots humorous action films. And, of course, he plays the main role in them. The spy film Tuxedo, filmed in 2002, was no exception.
I didn’t think – the main character didn’t guess that he would have to work a little as a super agent. But an accidental meeting with a professional “Jamesbond” provided such an opportunity. And the resourceful Chan successfully extricated himself from the situation and saved the planet. And at the same time, I found the girl of my dreams – everything is as it should be.
1. Men in Black
Starting a conversation about super agents, it is impossible to ignore James Bond. But it is impossible not to mention the legendary 1997 film “Men in Black”.
These people don’t know how to run up walls and hit a fly flying across the road with a bullet in the eye. These are just good people. Kind, wise in their own way, modest and responsible. Because there is such a profession – to protect Mother Earth from an alien threat.
And the wonderful simple guys are firmly on guard. Perfectly aware of the immensity of the universe, and without prejudice regarding the unimaginable variety of intelligent life forms.
