Psychiatric hospitals are a haven for confused people who need help. Such films are dramatic and unpredictable, and this is what the audience likes.
10 Jacket (2004)
Fantastic thriller about time travel. The film tells about a war veteran who was wounded in the head during one of the battles. Jack almost died, but gradually he recovers and is ready to live on. Jack is tormented by frequent seizures, he partially loses his memory. Jack is sent to a psychiatric hospital for treatment, as, according to the judge, he is guilty of the death of a policeman. It is worth saying that Jack remembers absolutely nothing and does not know about this death. The doctors decide to use non-standard drugs on Jack. As a result, Jack begins to move in time. The film is similar to a kind of experiment and discovery for the audience.
9. On the Edge (2001)
Jonathan becomes suicidal when his father dies. The young man is depressed, he does not want to die, but he cannot live on either. Jonathan accelerates his car and tries to kill himself. Fortunately, the young man remains alive. He is placed in a psychiatric clinic for treatment. Jonathan, being in a psychiatric hospital and meeting other people, begins to change and bounce back. He finds the strength within himself to carry on.
8. I’m a cyborg, but that’s okay (2006)
A dramatic story about the fate of two completely different people who found each other in a hospital. The film was produced in South Korea and opens up this country from a new perspective. Yong-gun is a young girl who once thought that she was a cyborg and could talk to technology, communicate with different things. Of course, relatives did not understand the girl and put her in a psychiatric hospital, where Yong-gun should provide assistance. Surprisingly, in the hospital, the girl meets a young man who is also abnormal, he believes that he can steal someone’s soul. Young people unite and experience happiness when they are near each other.
7. It’s a Very Funny Story (2010)
The protagonist of the film is a 16-year-old schoolboy who is disappointed with his life and falls into depression. The young man is in a depressed state, and his parents place him in a mental hospital for treatment. At first, Craig cannot get used to new circumstances, however, he soon finds a friend in the hospital and meets his true first love. A story about the difficult life of a teenager, filled with experiences and aspirations to be realized. A film about the pressing problems of young people who have just begun to live an adult life and meet many problems along the way.
6. Angels of the Universe (2000)
A young man named Paul is self-confident, he identifies himself with a talented artist. Paul often presents himself as a great person, a real creator. One day he falls in love with Dagny, a beautiful girl from a wealthy family. But the relationship of young people does not last long. The fact is that Dagny only uses Paul to go against his family, rebel and show his character. After parting with Dagny, Paul develops schizophrenia, the young man is admitted to the hospital for treatment, but the personality disorder only progresses. It becomes unbearable for Paulo to live despite the help and support of other people.

Quite strange things are happening in the clinic, and the staff behaves, to put it mildly, “mysteriously”. Edward is at a loss from what is happening and tries to get to the bottom of the truth. He gets acquainted with the patients of the clinic, who seem to him to be its former employees. Edward is already completely confused and does not know who to trust. He tries to escape from a frightening hospital, but it’s not as easy as it might seem.
4. The Island of the Damned (2010)
A psychological thriller with a terrifying, forcing atmosphere that drives the viewer into despair. Two eminent detectives arrive on a remote island, who were invited to investigate a criminal who escaped from a mental hospital. Despite the fact that there is nowhere to hide on the island, the fugitive is almost impossible to find. Detectives interrogate doctors and patients of the hospital, bypass the hidden corners of the island, but the investigation with each new discovery comes to a dead end. The lead detective begins to go crazy and suspect that everything around is not what it seems. The denouement promises to surprise the audience and not leave them indifferent.
3. Banned Reception (2011)
One of the most amazing and non-standard films about psychiatric hospitals. The main character is placed in a hospital, a very young girl is scared and does not know what to do when she finds herself in a frightening situation. The thing is that the girl went against her stepfather, which scared him, and he decided to put her in treatment. However, the heroine is not going to give up and even from a hopeless situation she is able to get out. The girl goes into another, completely fantastic reality, as if she turns into another person. At first glance, a tender and fragile girl suddenly becomes a brave and courageous fighter, ready for anything.
2. Planet Ka-Pécs (2001)
One fine day, a man appears at the train station as if from nowhere, he does not have any documents with him, and people who are interested in the identity of a stranger receive only one answer: I came from the planet Ka-Pax. Who is this stranger, is he really an alien or an ordinary person who has gone crazy? Psychiatrist Mark has constant conversations with a stranger to find out who he is. Prot is completely different from the crazy one: he is friendly and reasonable, answers the questions posed logically and clearly. The man is a real mystery, but the psychiatrist Mark manages to find a clue and establish the real identity of Prot. However, further events develop in a completely fantastic way.
1. Interrupted life (1999)
This is a story about two girls lost in the world. Lisa and Susanna meet in a psychiatric clinic. The girls got there with different diagnoses and characters, they are completely different from each other, however, they draw closer and constantly strive to be together. The fox one day escapes from the clinic and takes Susanna on his escape. The girls come to Daisy’s sleepover. The fox literally drives Daisy to suicide, but she does it completely by accident. Suzanne decides to return to the clinic after all she’s been through. This is a story about confused and lost people who are trying to survive in a cruel world.
