10 common foods that make life difficult for us
In one form or another, we eat them almost every day. And experts advise giving up popular food.
The fashion for a healthy lifestyle could not but be reflected in the windows of grocery stores. They are literally heaped up with packages, the labels of which say “no sugar”, “no cholesterol”, etc. And other products – milk, eggs – we are historically accustomed to consider useful. But our expert, nutritionist Elena Aseeva upset us: it turns out that many of these products should be cut in the diet. Or even exclude.
1. Eggs
It is an excellent source of easily digestible protein for those who support a healthy lifestyle. Eggs contain alpha amino acids (serve for the synthesis of proteins, – approx. ed.), which function as antioxidants. Lecithin (building material for cell membranes. – approx. ed.) helps the liver to recover and prevents the formation of harmful plaques on the walls of blood vessels. But the yolk is an ambiguously useful thing.
On the one hand, it contains omega-3 acids, vitamins and minerals. On the other hand, cholesterol, which, when accumulated, provokes the development of cardiovascular diseases. By the way, about 165 mg of cholesterol is contained in one egg, when the consumption rate is about 300 mg per day. Therefore, you do not need to overuse eggs for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is best to do with one yolk and the whites of two eggs.
And one more thing: antibiotics are often used in food production, which are fed to chickens. Through the shell, they enter the body and destroy the intestinal microflora. To avoid hurting yourself, wash your eggs well before boiling or frying.
2. Milk
Milk has been considered one of the healthiest drinks for many decades. Especially emphasis is placed on the high content of calcium, phosphorus and vitamin D. Despite all these advantages, milk contains galactose. It is also called “harmful milk sugar”, which leads the body to rapid aging, early development of cataracts and brittle bones.
There is no enzyme in the human stomach that would help digest lactose. Therefore, this function is performed by the so-called second-order bacteria, that is, the lowest – putrefactive. Their waste products (poisons and toxins) are dangerous. In the digestion of fermented milk products, bifidobacteria are involved, which support the microflora of the body. Therefore, it is better to replace milk with just such products.
Milk is based on casein protein. Since it is sticky, it is difficult for the stomach to break down this substance. Therefore, he begins to produce more intense gastric juice. And this leads to various diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
3. Palm oil
Refined palm oil is mainly used as a substitute for butter and sunflower oil. In the food industry, it is famous for its acceptable taste and cheapness. Its main harmful component is palmitic acid… It raises the level of cholesterol in the body, which leads to problems with the functioning of the cardiovascular system: blockage of blood vessels, blood clots, strokes and heart attacks. In addition, palm oil is poorly digested, which affects not only health, but also the human skin.
What to look for
Name
If the name says “cheese” or something similar, then it contains vegetable fats – it is likely that this is a good dose of palm oil.
Content
Many manufacturers are cunning and camouflage palm oil under the name “vegetable fats”. For example, pure butter should contain cow’s milk cream. If there are still any fats present, then this is no longer butter, but products of a secondary order, which include margarine and spread.
Price
If butter or cheese is suspiciously cheaper than other manufacturers, it means that it contains palm oil or other vegetable components.
4. Wheat flour
Bread, as you know, contains many useful micro and macro elements of group B. Therefore, it is important not to neglect its use, even on a diet. But flour is still a high-calorie product that contributes to rapid weight gain. Because of what the pressure rises and hypertension attacks may occur. Therefore, you should avoid products made from flour of the highest and first grades, which are rich in gluten, which interferes with full digestion.
5. Sugar
Sugar is one of the sources of energy and good mood. Once in the body, it is broken down into fructose and glucose, which are quickly absorbed. This is where the benefits of sugar end. Because of its calorie content, it causes diabetes, problems with the cardiovascular system, kidneys, stomach, a false feeling of hunger, depression, interferes with the receipt of useful elements from food, etc. Instead, it is better to add agar-agar, dried fruits and berries. Dates are a great addition to tea!
6. Salt
Salt has no value in it other than enhancing the flavor. It retains water in tissues, causes kidney stones, arthrosis, and affects the gastrointestinal mucosa. Salt manufacturers often add various chemicals to it to keep it long-lasting, attractive in color and appearance.
7. Juices
Nowadays, the juice diet is popular, when a person eats only juices for several days. But it is packaged products that do not provide any benefit, since they contain a huge amount of sugar and preservatives for long storage. Better to switch to smoothies, which are many times more vitamins. Plus, it’s even cheaper than buying juices.
8. Multigrain bars
They are often found in pharmacies and supermarkets.. Manufacturers promise a quick, tasty and supposedly dietary recharge. However, few people think about the fact that they contain palm oil and elements of high-calorie sweeteners. Dried fruits can help satisfy a sudden onset of hunger. But not for long and at the cost of a fairly large percentage of the daily calorie intake.
9. Red meat
This is muscle meat (cows, sheep, horses). During its preparation, carcinogens, which contribute to the development of cancer. In addition, fats and cholesterol are present. Switch to turkey, chicken and fish with your favorite spices.
10. Coffee drinks
In addition to regular coffee, many are tempted to add a little syrup and sprinkle it with marshmallows or halva. However, this innocent “little” may contain the daily calorie intake. Caffeine, along with the sweet carbohydrate bomb, quickly raises blood sugar levels, energizes the nervous system and energizes, but only for a short period of time. In addition, cream, which contains trans fats, can be added to cappuccino.
