Stress and fatigue greatly weaken the body, which can also affect the hair. In the period of high exposure to stress or fatigue, significant weakness and increased hair loss are often observed. In order to strengthen the hair in times of stress, you can use appropriate dietary supplements.
Thyroid diseases can cause excessive hair loss or even baldness. If you are concerned about the amount of hair loss and we have already ruled out other factors, it is worth doing thyroid tests.
The right diet has a huge impact on the condition of our hair. Vitamin and mineral deficiencies can make the hair weak and fall out in more than usual amount. Remember that iron, vitamin H (biotin), vitamin A, B vitamins, folic acid, as well as silicon, magnesium, zinc and unsaturated fatty acids are valuable for hair. These ingredients can be found, among others in: milk and its products, eggs, fruit, vegetables, nuts, yeast, groats, liver, fish, poultry, red meat.
It is worth remembering that hair loss may be caused by side effects of certain medications. Therefore, you should read the leaflets of the medications you take in order to prevent or at least be aware of their possible side effects.
The cause of hair loss may be anemia caused by iron deficiency, in order to exclude it, it is worth doing a blood test. Hair also falls out when our body is deficient in zinc. In order to supply the body with zinc, it is worth supplementing the diet with fish, poultry, lean meat, groats and whole wheat bread. In contrast, products that contain a lot of iron are: liver, green vegetables, wheat bread.
Androgenetic alopecia occurs in both men and women. However, it affects men more often and is genetically determined. This type of alopecia is hormonal and is caused by the androgen hormone dihydrotestosterone, which acts on the hair follicles. This alopecia is characterized by hair loss in the frontal angles (men) and on the top of the head (women).
Excessive hair loss may also result from ongoing systemic diseases (e.g. lupus erythematosus). Increased prolapse is also caused by fever that accompanies infectious diseases.
Hair can be very weakened by poorly conducted care. The causes of disturbing hair loss may be, for example, excessive drying, frequent dyeing, lightening and the use of inappropriate or too strong styling preparations.
The cause of hair loss or even alopecia can be various diseases of the scalp. They include, among others mycosis, psoriasis, seborrheic dermatitis, as well as dandruff.
The periods of increased hair loss are autumn and spring. During this time, it is worth paying special attention to a proper diet, as well as using preparations that strengthen both the hair and the body.
