10 Logan
A Marvel Studios film and the latest Wolverine movie.
The plot of the film is based on Logan’s mission to escort a mutant girl, who is openly hunted, to a safe place. The drama develops around the growing attachment of the gloomy Wolverine to the “daughter” – Laura is grown from Logan’s genetic material.
Logan’s main enemy is his clone called X-24. Professor Xavier dies at the hands of a clone, and Logan X-24 himself is planted on a lying tree. The wound proves fatal and the film ends with Wolverine’s funeral.
9. Gran Torino
A story about a lonely old man, Walt Kowalski. After the funeral of his wife, all that remains of our hero is an old Ford Gran Torino.
Walt Kowalski is a Korean War veteran who does not want to find a common language with his “colored” neighbors. He is unfriendly, cold and does not hesitate to use rude language to others.
Walt’s life is changed by the case: the old man’s car is trying to steal a neighbor’s boy. The parents of the boy Tao ask Walt to forgive their son, and as an atonement for guilt, they offer Tao to help a lonely old man around the house for free.
Walt becomes close to Tao over time, protecting him from gangs and teaching him life lessons. At some point, our hero realizes that the Asian family is closer and dearer to him than his own.
Walt will die under the bullets of the gang, ensuring the safety of the Tao family.
8. Faun’s Labyrinth
A story with parallel worlds, princesses and magic.
About a girl named Ophelia, who needs to pass three Faun tests in order to return to a magical land with her real parents. The tests are difficult, confusing and full of magic. The girl copes with everyone, but on the third she gets a bullet in the stomach from her stepfather. Ofelia dies in the arms of the housekeeper Mercedes.
And after death, she ends up in her native world, where she becomes an immortal queen.
7. Remember
A detective story in which the main character, Leonard Shelby, needs to find his wife’s killer. It is complicated by the fact that earlier the man received a head injury. And his memory is not capable of retaining events for more than fifteen minutes. Leonard leaves notes for himself, tattoos with important details, takes photos of leads.
The peculiarity of the film lies in the non-chronological order of the story. The viewer can make a complete picture only at the end of the viewing, when black-and-white five-minute segments of the plot acquire color.
6. Braveheart
The story of William Wallace, which develops during the war between Scotland and England. William secretly marries a girl, but the English soldiers are unhappy with the ignored rule of the right of the first night. Wallace tries to run away with his wife, but the girl is killed. Then our hero enters into battle with the soldiers, and the villagers accept the uprising, kill the sheriff and the English soldiers. Other Scots join Wallace’s squad. However, Wallace is betrayed by the Scottish authorities and the man suffers death by decapitation in London Square.
5. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Criminal Randle McMurphy is transferred to a psychiatric clinic for examination. The clinic has strict procedures set by the head nurse, which do not suit McMurphy. He is not going to tolerate the boorish attitude of the staff towards himself, and is trying to convey these thoughts to other patients. But everyone seems to be satisfied with the established routine.
A story about insubordination, rebellion and attempts to escape from the oppressive walls of the hospital. About a positive criminal with an endless supply of jokes and a lust for life that infects those around him. The head nurse cannot come to terms with McMurphy’s unbroken character, and the patient is lobotomized. Randle’s best friend – the Leader – cannot bear the dementia in the eyes of the current McMurphy and suffocates him with a pillow, while he escapes from the clinic, thereby fulfilling McMurphy’s wish.
4. Train to Hume
The story of the bandit Ben Wade and the old farmer Dan Evans. Evans needs to escort Ued to the train to Utah, which will bring the bandit to the gallows.
During the journey, Wade is imbued with respect for Evans, he does not want to kill him and wants to get rid of the escort by talking. But Dan Evans admits that he wants to accompany Wade to the train not for money, but for the respect of his own son.

2. Insomnia
A film about two detectives who arrive in Alaska to investigate the murder of a young girl. And although the Alaska police were inclined to conclude that the girl’s killer is her former classmate, Detective Dormer does not agree with this and wants to conduct his own investigation.
During a trap for a suspected killer, Dormer accidentally kills his partner. But the detective does not want to admit this, and as the viewer will later understand, he does not want to for many reasons.
