Nimesil belongs to the group of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). The active ingredient in Nimesil is nimesulide.1. Unlike many similar drugs, nimesulide acts “pointwise” in the focus of inflammation and has a maximum analgesic effect. The main indications of the drug are associated precisely with this feature:
- removal of acute pain (in the back, lower back, muscles, toothache);
- pain with sprains and dislocations;
- treatment of pain syndrome after injuries, operations, with arthrosis and other diseases of the joints;
- primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual pain)1;
The reverse side of the effectiveness is a large number of contraindications. These include:
- hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- hypersensitivity to acetylsalicylic acid and other NSAIDs;
- simultaneous use with other NSAIDs;
- chronic inflammatory processes of the intestine in the acute stage;
- exacerbation of peptic ulcer of the stomach and duodenum;
- bleeding and perforation of the gastrointestinal tract in history;
- severe forms of blood clotting disorders, heart and kidney failure;
- liver disease;
- fever with SARS and other infectious and inflammatory diseases;
- pregnancy and lactation;
- children’s age up to 12 years.
When taking the drug, side effects may occur in the form of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, itching and skin rash, shortness of breath, swelling, increased blood pressure.
The drug from an Italian manufacturer is available in the form of granules for preparing a solution. It should be taken orally, dissolved in 100 ml of water, 1-2 times a day after meals.
Nimesil analogues also contain nimesulide and are produced by various pharmaceutical companies.

How to choose an analogue of Nimesil
Preparations based on nimesulide are very similar in the list of indications, and also have almost the same contraindications and side effects. The main differences are in the effectiveness of the drug and its price. In addition, some analogues have in their line not only granules for preparing a solution, but also classic tablets, lozenges, gels and sprays for external use. Some manufacturers produce suspensions that can be used by children.
It is important to remember that only a doctor should choose an analogue. All of these drugs have a large list of contraindications, so only a qualified specialist can evaluate all the pros and cons of a drug.
Reviews of doctors about analogues Nimesil
Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, which include Nimesil and its analogues, are symptomatic drugs. Therefore, replacing Nimesil with its analogue will not affect the treatment process in any way.
At the same time, most doctors note that it is Nimesil that most effectively copes with pain, so switching to an analogue is only advisable if there is intolerance to the components of Nimesil, or if you need to buy a cheaper drug.
