10 Lake House (2006)
She, Kate, in her 2006, leaves the sweet lake house, he, Alex, in his 2004, moves into it. The heroine throws a welcome letter to the new owner into the mailbox, and miraculously it falls into the hands of the protagonist, into the past. Correspondence begins between young people, which develops into a warm and trusting relationship, during which they understand that they have been separated for two years and there is an opportunity to meet in a common next year for them, but Alex does not come. The heroine decides to leave all these ridiculous hopes for illusory happiness and return to real life. But one day she sees a drawing of a similar house and learns that its author, Alex, died in an accident in 2006. Kate herself witnessed this incident and understands that it was her acquaintance. The heroine writes a new letter in desperation, warning Alex of the danger, and hopefully throws the letter into the box… In the end, both heroes meet in the house by the lake.

9. Sleepy Hollow (1999)
Ichabod Crane investigates crimes and finds an exclusively scientific and rational explanation for everything. The innovator is sent to a small settlement to investigate sinister and mysterious crimes: several residents were beheaded. Arriving, he learns the legend of a cruel mercenary who was caught and deprived of his head, now he appears in the form of a Headless Horseman and takes revenge. Ichabod begins to look for a completely logical explanation for what is happening, but the behavior of the locals, as well as what he saw with his own eyes, defies the usual explanation, and the hero begins to suspect everyone and everyone, including the girl he is in love with, Katrina. She is the daughter of a banker, in whose house the protagonist stayed. Ichabod managed to unravel the case and find the culprit – it turned out to be Katrina’s stepmother, Mary, who once betrayed the mercenary and now manages it in a thirst for an inheritance. Eventually the Headless Horseman’s spirit gets the head back, takes Mary with him, and disappears. Ichabod and Katrina leave the sinister place forever.
The work of secrets, intrigues, investigations was entrusted to the charismatic Johnny Depp.
8. Sweet November (2001)

Unfortunately, it is she who will one day repaint his world in dark colors, when the hero finds out that his beloved is terminally ill. Parting is inevitable, because the heroine wants to forever remain in the memory of a dear person, beautiful and strong.

7. Autumn Sonata (1978)
History of the relationship between mother and daughter. Mother, Charlotte, a talented pianist, comes to visit her daughter Eva. They haven’t seen each other for seven years. Mother’s life turned out great: a brilliant career as a musician, fame, several marriages. Eva lives modestly and quietly, she is married to a pastor, a big wound in her heart – the death of her little son, does not let the woman go. Eva takes care of her sister who is paralyzed. It so happened that the mother, for the sake of her own ambitions, left the children to her father, and the girls did not receive proper care and attention. Now it’s time to meet and sort things out. Mother and daughter have a long conversation, expressing mutual grievances and reproaches. Charlotte’s heart is still deaf to the pleas and requests of her daughters for a drop of love. Unable to bear the oppressive atmosphere of the house, his mother leaves him. The daughter writes a letter in the hope of rectifying the situation, because the love for her mother still lives in her heart.

6. Pleasantville (1998)
David, a modest and withdrawn teenager, loves to spend his evenings watching a black-and-white series about the Parker family, in whose life everything is correct and measured. David’s sister, Jennifer, a very daring and independent person, holds different views. One day, young people, thanks to a TV wizard, move to black and white America in the fifties and become the children of the Parker couple living in the town of Pleasantville. Everything is perfect here: husbands go to work, women run the household, children go to school, athletes regularly win matches, and firefighters save cats, because there are simply no fires in the town, and no special problems. The calm is broken by Jennifer when she spends the night with a local handsome man, and in fact in the city only a kiss is allowed. Gradually, all the desires, dreams, anxieties of the inhabitants come out, coloring themselves and the world around them in different colors. The life of the town changes irrevocably. Whether this is good or bad is up to the main characters to figure out.

5. When Harry Met Sally (1989)

She secretly leaves home and begins to travel around London on her own, as a result, she finds friends and herself, revealing her true face to the world. Restless parents still find a groom for their daughter and persuade her to marry. During the ceremony, the bride changes her mind, telling her mother that she likes herself the way she is. Suddenly, Piglet disappears and the curse is lifted. One day at a party, Penelope, wearing a mask, approaches Max, the young man immediately recognizes her and declares his love, not knowing that the curse has already disappeared.

3. Duplex (2003)
Young spouses Alex and Nancy dream of making a cozy nest and are looking for a house for this. Luck smiles, and they manage to get a two-story apartment with a small condition. A sweet, harmless old woman lives in the house, who doesn’t have much left to live. However, everything went wrong, and the life of the peaceful spouses gradually began to turn into hell. Grandmother suddenly began to show character, and even the hired killer could not cope with the witch. The couple sell the house cheaply and move out. Our unsinkable heroine once again celebrates a well-done fraud with naive youth. But not everything is so bitter in the life of a young couple, because it is still a comedy, so Alex released a successful book about the misadventures in the duplex.

2. Autumn in New York (2000)
Will Kane is very cynical about life, he is successful in business and among women.
