“We need to relax” is a popular motto in our time. Which is not surprising: we constantly have to “do our best”, “go all out”, in a word, strain. After that, you want to relax. But it looks like we have forgotten how! And too often we try to achieve what we are looking for by using means that can only increase tension: alcohol, loud music, visual stimulants (movies, TV, computer). As a result, many overwork, lose sleep, losing natural rest. The ability to consciously relieve stress in healthy ways can help. The director of the Center for Integral Psychology in Milan, Gianni Camattari, and the director of the Institute of Thanatotherapy in Moscow, Vladimir Baskakov, collected in their manual all the main methods of immersion in a state of rest (including holotropic breathing and yoga poses), accompanying them with brief theoretical explanations and examples of auto-training (“Breathing becomes even and deep”), citing possible contraindications. Most of the exercises are designed to be done alone. However, the final section contains a description of relaxation techniques with the help of a partner, and it is indicated that they are especially effective. Information can be useful for professionals, couples, parents of hyperactive children, for those who want to learn how to quickly restore strength.
