The long tradition of the Cantabrian in the art of canning is reflected in one of the oldest and still producing companies in the north of Spain.

Yurrita Group is one of the 3 main Spanish companies in volume of anchovy production and the Oldest canning company in the Basque Country.

The company, originally from the Guipuzcoan municipality of Mutriku, is 150 years old, and during them it has not stopped distributing salted and pickled fish to the rest of Spain.

It was the first Spanish company to obtain certification in 2011 Marine Steward Council (MSC), a title that certifies sustainable fishing and the utmost respect for marine reserves.

The history of the company is closely linked to the town of Mutriku, a town on the shores of the Cantabrian Sea, and today, after 150 years, it continues to develop new innovative and exciting projects, always maintaining the essence of a small family business, integrating tradition and modernity.
