Which vitamins are better

1. Vitamins are necessary for the body, they participate in many processes, in particular, in the metabolism, but are not produced by the body itself, therefore they must come from the outside. However, one should not exaggerate their significance. Many are sure: I drank a vitamin – and immediately became vigorous and healthy. Vitamins are not stimulants and do not supply energy to the body.

2. Advertising of some imported kits costing from 1000 to 5000 rubles per course claims that vitamins rejuvenate, cure many diseases, even cancer. This is a blatant lie. Vitamins cannot heal anything.

3. Advertising of other multicomplexes says that vitamins collected in one tablet are not compatible with each other, therefore they need to be divided into several tablets and drunk in several doses. There is no scientific evidence for the incompatibility of solid vitamins.

4. Some are afraid that an excess of vitamins can lead to poisoning. Fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E, F, K can actually accumulate in the liver and adipose tissue. But to get poisoned, you need to take a dose of these vitamins, 1000 times higher than usual. From the rest of the water-soluble vitamins, even at this dose, only redness or indigestion can occur. Excess water-soluble vitamins are simply excreted from the body. However, pregnant women need to take vitamin A under the supervision of a doctor in order to avoid teratogenic effects (impaired development of the embryo). There are no vitamins and allergies. If it appears, then its cause is in food colors or binders added to the pills. In this case, you can drink vitamins in powder form.

5. A decade ago, it became popular in the cold season or at the onset of the disease to take a loading dose of ascorbic acid. American biologist, Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling recommended drinking up to 10 grams of ascorbic acid for illnesses! Several years ago, a different opinion appeared: loading doses of vitamin C can undermine immunity and increase the load on the liver and kidneys. The question of loading doses is still controversial. The daily norm of vitamin C is 90 mg, the upper permissible safe norm is considered to be 2 g. For example, athletes are often prescribed to take 1 g per day, since ascorbic acid activates redox processes, regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates, proteins and fats, which is disrupted during exercise … You can take more than 90 mg of ascorbic acid per day for a long time, but do not exceed a dose of 2 g.
