What are the causes of tachycardia?

The sinus tachycardias are due to certain diseases or situations which cause the heart to accelerate to better oxygenate the body. They can also be caused by toxic substances that accelerate the heart. We can cite as causes:

– anemia;

– fever ;

– pains ;

– significant efforts;

– hypovolaemia (decrease in blood volume, for example due to haemorrhage);

– acidosis (too acidic blood);

– inflammation;

– cardiac or respiratory failure;

– pulmonary embolism;

– hyperthyroidism;

– Taking medication or drugs …

The ventricular tachycardias are linked to heart problems such as:

– an acute phase infarction, or a heart that has undergone an infarction;

– certain drugs prescribed in cardiology (antiarrhythmics, diuretics);

– dysplasia of the right ventricle;

– certain damage to the valves of the heart;

– cardiomyopathy (disease of the heart muscle);

– congenital heart disease;

– a pacemaker malfunction (battery to the heart) …

Atrial tachycardias (auriculars) may be due to:

– heart disease (heart disease);

– problems with the valves of the heart;

– medicines based on digitalis;

– chronic bronchopneumopathy;

– more rarely to a heart attack.
