What a fruit: 7 original recipes with bananas

This tropical fruit, which is located in Russia mainly thanks to Ecuador, has long been native to us. We are happy to eat bananas all year round. This is just the case when delicious can be extremely useful. Today we propose to expand the usual culinary framework and experiment a little. From our article, you will learn what dishes can be made from a banana and how to usefully enliven an ordinary menu.

Meat is better with fruit

Strictly speaking, a banana is not a fruit at all. A tiny sprout of this plant is able to turn into a giant bush three meters high in 9 months. So, in fact, this is grass, and its fruits, that is, the bananas themselves — are berries. And from these berries, you can prepare an original banana sauce for meat.

You will need:

  • butter — 2 tbsp. l.
  • onion — 1 pc.
  • curry — 2 tsp.
  • flour — 1.5 tbsp. l.
  • salt — 1 pinch
  • coconut milk-300 ml
  • bananas — 4 pcs.

Melt the butter in a saucepan and fry the chopped onion until transparent. Put the curry, flour and a pinch of salt, passer for another minute. Then gradually pour in the coconut milk, simmer on low heat until thickened. We cut 2 bananas into small cubes, puree 2 others, put everything in a saucepan and cook for another 5-7 minutes.

This sauce can be served with pork and potatoes. We cut 400 g of fillet into strips, and 4 potatoes — into cubes. First, fry the pieces of meat, and when it is covered with a crust, pour out the potatoes. We bring the dish to readiness, at the end we salt and pour everything with banana curry. Soak the potatoes with pork on the fire for a couple more minutes, and you can serve it to the table.

Sweet breakfast for the mind

One of the varieties of banana is called “musa sapientum”, which can be translated as”the fruit of a wise man”. It really has a beneficial effect on the brain. It is proved that the active substances in bananas improve memory and increase concentration. And when to do this, if not in the morning? Here is a recipe for banana pancakes for breakfast.

We take it:

  • milk — 70 ml
  • egg — 1 pc.
  • sugar — 1 tsp.
  • salt — 1 pinch
  • flour-120 g
  • baking powder-0.5 tsp.
  • large mature bananas — 2 pcs.

For decoration:

  • butter – to taste
  • sugar — 1 tbsp. l.
  • banana — 1 pc.

Whisk the milk, egg, sugar and a pinch of salt with a whisk. Add flour with baking powder, knead a homogeneous dough. We knead the bananas into a pulp, mix them into the dough and fry the pancakes in a frying pan.

Let’s add one more touch. Melt a slice of butter in a frying pan, dissolve 1 tbsp.l. sugar, pour 1 tbsp. l. hot water and stand on fire until golden caramel is obtained. Fry a banana cut into circles in it. We serve ruddy pancakes with honey, walnuts and caramelized banana slices.

Bananas in a caftan

Bananas are rich in tryptophan, thanks to which the body releases serotonin in shock doses, called the hormone of happiness. In the fight against spring depression, there is no better means to find. And to make happiness absolute, we will cook bananas in batter.

You will need:

  • egg — 1 pc.
  • powdered sugar — 1 tsp.
  • flour-125 g.
  • baking powder-0.5 tsp.
  • bananas — 3 pcs.
  • vegetable oil-200 ml

In a deep container, whisk the egg and powdered sugar with a whisk. Sift the flour with baking powder here, beat it well again with a whisk for a few minutes. The batter should turn out thick and smooth, without a single lump.

Coarsely chop the bananas into transverse pieces. In a saucepan with a thick bottom, heat a large amount of vegetable oil so that it covers the bananas. Dip each piece into the batter, fry on all sides until golden brown and spread on paper towels. Before serving, sprinkle the treat with powdered sugar.

Pudding is easy

Today, the most popular banana variety in the world is “cavendish” because of its excellent taste qualities. In many ways, the reason is the fact that its main competitor, the banana of the “gros-michel” variety, was completely destroyed by the fungus in the last century. Fortunately, in the recipe for banana pudding, you can use any varieties.

Ingredients:

  • sugar-150 g
  • flour — 4 tbsp. l.
  • salt — 1 pinch
  • almond milk-600 ml
  • eggs — 3 pcs.
  • vanilla extract-to taste
  • walnut waffles-200 g
  • banana — 2 pcs.

Combine sugar, flour and a pinch of salt in a saucepan, pour everything with almond milk. Constantly stirring with a spatula, bring the mixture to a boil, simmer for a couple of minutes and remove from the heat. Separately, beat the eggs with the addition of 2 tbsp. l. of the cooled milk mixture. Return the saucepan to the stove, pour in the egg mass, mix thoroughly and cook for another 2-3 minutes. At the end, we put the vanilla extract and let it brew for 15-20 minutes.

Chop the nut waffles, pour a little at the bottom of the cremans. Put a few circles of banana on top and pour a small amount of milk mass. We repeat all the layers several times and send the dessert to freeze in the refrigerator. Before serving, garnish it with banana slices and almond petals.

Delicious cake without hassle

Bananas contain a very rich vitamin and mineral complex. This fruit contains vitamins B6, C, K, PP, as well as sodium, potassium, magnesium, iron, zinc and phosphorus. That’s why in the fight against vitamin deficiency, doctors recommend leaning on bananas.

You can eat them in their pure form or make a banana cheesecake without baking.

You will need:

  • chocolate shortbread cookies-350 g
  • butter — 150 g
  • gelatin-1.5 tbsp. l.
  • bananas — 3 pcs.
  • lemon juice — 2 tbsp. l.
  • soft cottage cheese-450 g
  • cream 35 % – 200 ml
  • powdered sugar — 2 tbsp. l.

For decoration:

  • banana — 2 pcs.

We grind chocolate shortbread cookies into a crumb, mix with melted butter. We tamp the mass into a rectangular shape and put it to freeze in the refrigerator.

Meanwhile, dissolve the gelatin in 100 ml of hot water. Puree bananas with lemon juice with a blender. Add soft cottage cheese, cream and powdered sugar. Beat the mass to a thick, smooth consistency, gradually pouring in the dissolved gelatin.

We spread the banana mass on top of the frozen cake, level it and put it back in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours. Then we cut the cheesecake into portions and generously decorate each with slices of bananas.

Tropics in a jar

Among other useful elements, banana is rich in antioxidants that rejuvenate the body from the inside. It is no accident that the pulp of this fruit is often added to cosmetic face masks. They deeply nourish the cells and restore the structure.

We have already prepared meat dishes from bananas. And now we offer to make an unusual jam.

Ingredients:

  • large bananas — 2 pcs.
  • kiwi — 5-6 pcs.
  • sugar-150 g
  • gelatin — 1 tsp.
  • lemon juice 3 tsp.

We combine bananas and kiwi in the bowl of a blender. We grind the fruit into a pulp, pour it into a saucepan, cover it with sugar, add gelatin and lemon juice. Bring the mass to a boil and, stirring constantly with a spatula, cook on low heat for 5 minutes. Then we leave the mass alone for an hour. Again, bring it to a boil and boil for 5 minutes. Now you can pour the jam into sterilized jars and roll it up. If you can’t wait, you can try it right now.

Stronger drinks

It’s no secret that you can prepare all kinds of smoothies, smoothies and juices from bananas. But it is not so widely known about alcoholic beverages with their participation. In Uganda, for example, banana beer is popular, the strength of which is 30%.

Take it:

  • ripe large bananas — 3 pcs.
  • milk — 150 ml
  • condensed milk — 400 ml
  • egg whites — 2 pcs.
  • vodka — 300 ml

We cut bananas into circles and puree them in a blender. Add the usual milk and condensed milk, carefully whisk everything again. To make the texture more tender, add the beaten egg whites. Only the eggs should be fresh. Pour in the vodka, mix well, pour into bottles with tight stoppers.

If the taste of the drink seems too rich, dilute it with water or add ice chips. Banana liqueur goes well with apples, oranges and strawberries. And you can also add it to coffee or pour it over ice cream.
