Transport professions are diverse and are associated with air, water, land and underground transportation.

Transport Worker’s Day has a long history. The date of November 20 was not chosen by chance. It was on this day in 1809 that Alexander I signed a decree on the creation of the first unified state body in Our Country that controls the entire transport system of the country. This body became the Department of Water and Land Communications. The same decree spoke about the creation of the Corps of Railway Engineers, as well as an institute attached to it. Already at that time, there was a need to develop a unified transport infrastructure in the country. And for this, highly qualified professional and managerial personnel were needed.

Already under the Soviet regime, narrowly professional holidays were established: the Day of the workers of the sea and river fleet, the Day of the railway worker, the Day of the civil aviation worker, the Day of the motorist. 

Representatives of various transport professions have long taken the initiative to create a single holiday. In order to meet their wishes, the Prime Minister of the Federation in July 2020 signed a decree on the establishment of such a professional celebration. On August 10, 2020, a corresponding order was issued by the Ministry of Transport, and a new holiday appeared – Transport Worker’s Day.

Despite the fact that Transport Worker’s Day is a young holiday, it already has established traditions. After all, the celebration actually united all highly professional holidays in the field of transport.

On this day, solemn events are held at which the heads of transport services congratulate their employees and award the most distinguished ones. Certificates of honor are awarded, thanks are announced, valuable gifts are given, monetary rewards and bonuses are paid. 

It has become a good tradition to organize festive concerts, professional contests and competitions, where representatives of various transport professions can demonstrate their skills, abilities and skills.

Do not forget about the workers who have gone on a well-deserved rest. Their many years of conscientious work, the upbringing of the younger generation of transport workers, the transfer of rich life and professional experience are noted.

How to become a transport worker?
There are many professions in the field of transport, and each of them has its own requirements. For example, in order to become a driver, in accordance with Article 65 of the Labor Code of the Federation, you must provide the following documents: a driver’s license of category D or E, medical certificate No. 003, a certificate of non-conviction, a certificate of absence of administrative offenses.

To become a civil aviation pilot, you need to have excellent physical and mental health and graduate from a flight school (after grade 9) or an appropriate university (after grade 11). In employment, the amount of “flight” time is of great importance.

Citizens of any gender over the age of 21 can become a tram driver. They need to pass a medical examination, after which training begins at an electric transport company, which lasts for 2-3 months. Then they take driving tests, the theory of driving a vehicle and traffic rules. It is also necessary to complete an internship in the tram depot, after which you can start working.
