9. Skogafoss waterfall

The Skogafoss waterfall is located 20 km from the village of Vik, not far from the volcano Eyyafyatlayokyudl. Climbing the stairs to the left, you can get to the observation deck, and if you go a little deeper along the road, you can come to another waterfall.

The Reynisdrangar Rocks are a godsend for any photographer who loves to shoot landscapes. If you drive a little further along Highway 1, you can see the Dverghamrar cliffs of a similar structure, but little is said about them.
The rocks rise 70 meters above the waters of the North Atlantic – according to Icelandic legend, they are nothing more than trolls, frozen above the first rays of the sun. This is an amazing place that fully conveys the spirit of Iceland.
3. Lake Myvatn

Lake Myvatn is one of the most visited places in Iceland. According to experts, the geothermal water of the Lake Myvatn area is able to relieve pain and is recognized as healing. Water has a positive effect on the treatment of skin diseases and asthma – it contains sulfur and silica.
Nearby there is a SPA center with reasonable prices – the food here is very tasty, and the atmosphere is cozy. Tourists especially like salmon dishes, as well as lamb soup. When you drive along the road, you will be amazed by the local views – lambs calmly walk along the roads!
2. Silfra Fault
When traveling in Iceland, be sure to check out Silfra Fault – a place most popular among tourists. In translation, the name means “silver lady”. Many people are fascinated by the sight of water in a fault – why is it so transparent?
It is not only transparent, but also cold. Water comes here from Lake Thingvallavatn, which in turn feeds from the Langjokull glacier. The distance between the underground lake and the glacier, equal to 50 km, is covered by water in 30–100 years, being filtered by porous lava deposits.
Due to the low temperature, it is difficult to find living creatures in the fault, divers love to visit this place very much, because the Silfra fault is always included in the lists of the best diving places on Earth. The crack splits into continents, so you can literally touch Europe and America at the same time.
1. Geysers of Geysir
Finally, we will add to the list one more most beautiful place in Iceland – Geysers of Geysir. There are many geysers in this area, but Geysira is the most famous of all. There are also hot pools, a small geyser.
During the eruption, the Geysir geyser reaches a height of 60 m, but this is a rare occurrence, it is mostly in a dormant state. At the time of hibernation, it is a green lake 18 m in diameter and 1,2 m deep.
It is believed that geysers owe their appearance to the earthquake that occurred in 1924. In 1930, all the geysers exploded at the same time, and the earth shook violently.
