Therapeutic fasting. Part 1.

Many of those who want to lose weight think about solving the problem with the help of fasting. Indeed, by practicing this method, you can get rid of a few extra pounds.

It is worth noting that fasting, despite all its appeal, is not at all a panacea for the treatment of obesity. It is necessary to find out the reasons for weight gain, adjust your diet, learn how to fight food cravings, tune in to improve the body and change your lifestyle.

It is important to know that after fasting, your body actively absorbs nutrients, with improper nutrition, weight gain occurs, which can destroy all your efforts. If you are struggling for a figure, all your attention should be paid to the correct way out of fasting, restorative nutrition, because it is an important stage after fasting to lose weight.

Fasting (or, in other words, fasting and dietary therapy-RTT) is recognized by official medicine as a method of effective treatment of various diseases. With a small number of contraindications, it improves the general condition, contributes to the normalization of metabolic processes and the function of the cardiovascular system, normalizes the activity of the immune system and is a powerful preventive tool. Fasting can be dry and on water. Dry is considered tougher. Also, you can fast for a long time or for a short time.

No less important than the fasting itself is the correct entry and exit from it. Their duration should correspond to the period of fasting itself. Example: day (day) – entry, day-hunger, day-exit, etc. During the entry and exit period, animal fats and animal protein should be completely excluded from the diet. If you are determined to starve for more than a day, 1-2 days before hunger, you should exclude nuts and grains from the diet, eat vegetables, fruits, and drink herbal teas and fresh juices on the day before hunger. The output is in reverse order. If you do not follow these rules, hunger will do you more harm than good.

You can not immediately swing for a long time. Everything should be done in moderation and gradually. Work out for yourself an individual scheme for the optimal extension of the term and stick to it. The regularity of your hunger strikes will definitely play a role. In weight loss, this is much more important than the duration.

Those who decided to try this method on themselves should know that during the unloading period, based on clinical and laboratory observations, there are 3 main stages.

stage 1 – the stage of food arousal. It lasts for the first 2-3 days. During this period, there is a pronounced feeling of hunger, weakness, sleep disorders, headaches, a painful reaction to food. It is very important to be able to distract from thoughts about food, to breathe fresh air, to communicate with like-minded people during this period. People with a high degree of obesity lose 1-2 kg per day at this stage.

stage 2 – the stage of increasing ketoacidosis. It lasts until the 7-9 day of fasting. During this period, the feeling of hunger is blunted. The tongue is covered with a whitish-gray coating, there is a smell from the mouth, from the body, in the mouth – a “metallic” taste. If there were any chronic diseases, exacerbations may occur. It is recommended to spend more time in the fresh air, drink alkaline mineral waters, and limit physical activity. The daily weight loss is 0.3-0.7 kg, at this stage there is an active breakdown of fat.

Stage 3 is called the stage of compensated ketoacidosis, which lasts up to 14-20 days. The body adapts completely to the conditions of starvation, all manifestations of diseases in most cases disappear, unpleasant odors disappear, the tongue is cleaned, dry mouth changes in humidity. The daily weight loss at this stage decreases and is already 0.2-0.5 kg.

We have described 3 stages of therapeutic fasting. As a rule, few people decide on the long-term use of this method of fighting excess weight. Everyone has different willpower. Therefore, you should start with fasting 1 time a week and, if this method suits you, leave 12 -, 24 – or 36-hour fasts.
