The Chris Dickerson Story (Mr. Olympia 1982).

One of the most prominent personalities in the world of bodybuilding is Chris Dickerson, who made his name famous with a huge number of titles won. The most important of which turned out to be “Mr. Olympia”.

Chris Dickerson was born on August 25, 1939 in Montgomery, Alabama, USA. From childhood, the boy was enthusiastically engaged in music, which eventually led him to a music college, from which he emerged as an opera singer, able to sing an aria in different languages. The profession of the future “Mr. Olympia” obliged to have strong lungs and to achieve this goal Chris crosses the threshold of the gym. No one could even imagine that simple training would turn into the meaning of the life of an opera singer.

In 1963 (just after graduating from college) Chris leaves for Los Angeles to visit his aunt. And it was here that a significant meeting in his life took place – he meets the outstanding athlete Bill Pearl, who was able to discern a future bodybuilding star in Dickerson. Indeed, Chris’s physique was very aesthetic, and the zeal with which he was engaged in lifting weights only strengthened Bill Pearl’s faith in his great future. He seriously took up the “construction” of the guy.

The training was hard and in his first competition “Mr. Long Beach”, which took place in 1965, Chris took 3rd place. And then, as they say, off and on … the end of the 70s and the beginning of the 80s became the most successful and “fruitful” for the athlete – from competition to competition he becomes first, then second. And note that he holds this bar for a long time.

Popular: sports nutrition from BSN – complex protein Syntha-6, increasing mentality and endurance in training NO-Xplode, increasing blood flow and metabolism NITRIX, creatine CELLMASS.

But, perhaps, the happiest moment happened in 1984, when at the Mr. Olympia tournament he bypassed all the athletes and took the main prize. But the most amazing thing is that Chris at that time was 43 years old – in the history of the prestigious competition there had never been such mature winners.

In 1994, Dickerson will try to win the title again, but will only be the fourth.

This was the last championship he took part in. It was after him that the athlete leaves professional sports.

In 2000, a very significant event took place in the life of the renowned bodybuilder – he was admitted to the Hall of Fame of the International Federation of Bodybuilding (IFBB).

Now Dickerson has already crossed the 70-year mark, but he still continues to lead an active lifestyle – he visits the gym and shares his rich experience and knowledge at various seminars. He lives in Florida.
