Writer and nutritionist Ekaterina Mirimanova studied thousands of overweight people and made interesting conclusions about the direct connection between mood and figure.

– At my seminars on eating behavior, people fill out detailed questionnaires, from which this picture has developed, – says Ekaterina, – There is such a concept – obsessive foods, when you are irresistibly drawn to something all the time. Pay attention to what exactly, pay attention to the requests of the body, it is a sensitive device and signals a lot. Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, but, according to my observations, the conclusions are 98% correct.
So what does it mean if you are missing a product?
Chocolate. There are few sensual pleasures – delicious food, relaxation, massage, sex. This product promotes the production of serotonin, the hormone of happiness. And chocolate lovers replace them with all the other joys of life – this is the easiest thing.
Potatoes, bread and flour products. There is not enough money and wealth. Do you remember that the slogan “Bread is the head of everything” hung in Soviet canteens? Apparently, this is imprinted in the subconscious of people. And indeed, if there is no money, then there is no bread either. There is also a feedback – as soon as a person starts earning more, he begins to eat less flour products.
Cheese, cottage cheese, yoghurt and other dairy products. Relationship problems with parents. Milk in the mass subconscious is associated with the mother, and the body’s need to consume milk indicates a desire to fill some difficulties or gaps in relations with the older generation.
Meat (not sausage!) Lack of stability, a person lacks confidence in the future, he does not see the possibility of growth and development. In ancient times, for cave hunters, the extraction of meat meant success, movement forward and the continuation of life. Now, if we are irresistibly drawn to eat a steak, our genetic memory reminds us that it would be nice to find ground under our feet.
Oil and other fatty foods. Lack of diversity, dominance of gray everyday life. Fat lovers in life can have everything stable, but very boring and predictable. They seem to want to dilute the frozen situation with the slippery texture of the product and provide themselves with the desired changes.
Cakes, candies and other sweets. Lack of love and affection. Moreover, a woman with a sweet tooth can be married, but feel unloved. When I was with my first husband, I ate sweets in wild quantities. A psychological explanation for this phenomenon: sweet food takes us back to childhood, where we received unlimited love and affection.
Olives, chips and everything salty. Loss of life guidelines, sometimes on a physical level, loss of vitality. This happens, for example, when moving to another city, changing jobs. There is a rethinking of life values. For example, doctors advise to eat salty in case of a breakdown – it instantly increases blood pressure and, as it were, mobilizes the body.
Peppers and other spicy foods. Lack of experience. Fans of spices want to add “pepper” to their lives – in other words, thrills.
Fruits and berries. Apathy, loss of interest in life. When people consume them in large quantities, they need replenishment with vitality, which is currently in short supply.
If you find in yourself or loved ones an obsessive craving for the listed products, do not worry and just know: any problem can be solved not by overeating, but by other, less destructive ways for the figure. For example, add daily joy: sports activities, walks in the fresh air, meeting nice people, new impressions – in the form of a trip to an exhibition or a trip to another city. It’s easy to do, but provides a rush of endorphins that will make you happier without cakes and chocolates.
