Baking pots allow you to get a lot of different dishes, about the recipes of which you can fantasize almost endlessly. But in order for the result to meet expectations, you need to know the simplest rules for preparing and using baking pots.

Preparing baking pots

The advantage of cooking in pots is that, if they are made from natural materials, they gain temperature gradually, but they give it away in the same way. As a result, the food is not just stewed, but languishes, with a taste similar to that which was prepared in traditional Russian ovens. Baking pots ensure even heating of food, and the porous composition of the clay from which they are made allows you to keep all the juices of cooking inside. But in order for the pots to fully realize their magical properties, before the first cooking after buying them, you need to spend a little time preparing them. Since the peculiarity of clay dishes is precisely in its porosity, then before the first use, it is necessary to immerse the pots in cold water for at least one hour. There is an opinion: if you do the same thing before each cooking in pots, then they will turn out to be more juicy. In this case, it is enough just to fill the pots with cold water for a quarter of an hour.

Do not put clay pots in a hot oven, otherwise there is a great risk that they will crack during cooking. Therefore, the temperature must be increased gradually by placing the pots in a cold oven.

The advantage of pots is that you can cook completely different dishes in them. At the same time, porridge in them turns out to be no worse than meat, and vegetables are also not inferior to the latter in their taste. Therefore, having learned how to prepare baking pots, it is worth picking up several recipes for using them. The simplest of them is meat with potatoes in pots, for which it is enough to fry any kind of fillet, be it beef, pork or poultry, transfer it and potatoes, chopped into bars, into a pot, add salt, spices and a little broth or sour cream for baking. For cooking meat, a temperature of 200 degrees Celsius is sufficient. Vegetable dishes cook faster, and 180 degrees Celsius is enough for them. The highlight of cooking in pots lies not only in following the requirements of the recipe, but also in the fact that after turning off it is best to let the pots with the contents brew. To do this, after removing them from the oven, wrap the pots in a thick cloth and let them cool down to serving temperature.
