Relieve your migraine in 30 seconds with these techniques

Headache is not just neurological suffering. It is also a moral suffering. A crisis will certainly ruin your days, forcing you to postpone or cancel projects.

Perhaps you sometimes think that because of chronic headaches, you are a cross to carry for those around you.

I offer you simple and practical techniques to relieve your migraine attacks. At the same time, I will also show you how to prevent headaches.

Massage under the eyes

Massage is a technique used to relieve various pains such as toothache or migraine.

For the eye massage, you start by closing your eyes and placing two fingers just below. You then continue with circular movements on the cheekbone.

You end with light tapping using the index and middle fingers.

Eyebrow massage

This technique may not be foreign to you. It is simple to perform. You start by putting both thumbs on the lower eyebrow area, putting pressure on the bone in the orbital cavity.

You need to maintain a strong enough pressure as you move your thumbs from the inside to the outside.

You then apply the same amount of pressure to the browbone area. The purpose of this massage is to stimulate blood circulation.

Massage of the back of the head and temples

To begin the session, place your hands on both sides of your neck with your thumbs pointing down.

Once that’s done, you can now use your ring and middle fingers to massage this delicate region on the base of the skull.

You then continue with circular motions – regardless of the direction of rotation. Do this gently and delicately at first. Then, as you go, you can increase the pressure exerted by your fingers.

Hold this pressure for about 30 seconds before gently moving up towards the temples. You probably know that seizures cause the temporal vein to dilate. Apply peppered essential oil on top.

Believe it, this product has a miraculously calming effect.

The headband technique

The times are one of the most painful areas during a migraine attack. So when you wrap your head in a headband, make sure these areas are well covered. The “anti-migraine headband” should be neither too tight nor too soft.

I believe that you will be able to manage to find the right measure. Many say that the blindfold technique is better than the miracles of Lourdes.

Well, I totally agree. If you haven’t tried it yet, please do. Because, the “anti-migraine headband” attenuates the pulsatile sensations which are the obvious signs of a migraine and not of a simple headache. As a result, the pains subside very quickly.

Here is what it looks like

Scalp massage

Scalp massage can be done in two ways. Rest assured, the two methods are equal.

The first technique, it actually consists in using a manual head massager. It is with this tool that you will perform a complete head massage.

The pimples are effective in revitalizing the vital energy zones of the scalp meridians. Alternatively, you can do this by performing circular motions on the top of your head using the palm of your hand.

Be careful not to put pressure on this area.

Stimulation of acupressure points of the hand and wrists

There are two acupressure points, to be precise. The first is located between the thumb and forefinger, on the back of the hand.

The second is located on the fold of the wrist, on the inside. All you have to do is perform circular motions using your thumb and forefinger.

Relieve migraine with plantar reflexology

This technique is particularly effective when it is necessary to react in emergency, when the pain becomes unbearable for example.

It consists of massaging the acupressure point which is located above the foot, very close to the big toe. The goal of plantar reflexology is in particular to make seizures less painful and less frequent.

Do you try to keep a cool head despite everything

It is true that migraine attacks are a source of discomfort, fatigue or discomfort. When they occur, the first instinct is to clear your head.

Don’t think about anything, and go lie down in a room where you will only hear the sound of silence. The point is, while stress can cause a migraine attack, it can also make it worse. This is the reason why your mind should be at rest.

Some say you should lock yourself in a dark room. Not necessarily. Just go to a place where you feel comfortable.

Of course, at the height of the crisis, you are forced to lie down. But when you’re feeling better, you can go outside for some fresh air or take care of your vegetable garden, for example. It doesn’t really matter how you usually clear your head.

Listen to great music

First of all, what is good music? These are simply the songs you love. We are all music lovers deep down.

When the crisis is over, you can either sing along or just listen to your favorite tunes. Go to YouTube to download new videos.

Only here, the migraine weakens your nervous system. It would be better not to listen to too nostalgic songs, whose lyrics speak of sad stories… In short, the kind of music that can make your heart beat faster or make you cry. These songs are, believe it, potential sources of stress.

Small everyday actions

Some everyday actions may seem insignificant to us. And yet, when we find ourselves in a stressful situation or, more seriously, overcome by migraine, we appreciate these little habitual reflexes.

So, when the migraine attack occurs, before lying down or massaging yourself, start by drinking a large glass of water.

Water is a simple stress reliever that can potentially make pain worse. Simply, avoid ice water.

At the same time, you can put ice on the forehead so that the pain is less severe.

How about taking a nice hot shower? You know very well that hot water has a soothing virtue, for your head, but also for the muscles. And who knows? Maybe that famous quiet room where you’re supposed to lie down is the tub.

Caffeine

Caffeine has anti-migraine benefits. It significantly reduces throbbing pains. This is why I would advise you to have a strong cup of coffee, especially at the height of the crisis. Tea and cocoa also have anti-migraine properties.

It is the same for herbal tea based on marjoram, verbena or jasmine. On the other hand, I don’t think Coca-Cola is recommendable for relieving a migraine attack.

The drink does contain caffeine, but the problem is that it is carbonated. And I would never advise anyone to drink soft drinks in the midst of a migraine attack. It would be like recommending hemlock to him!
