General description of the disease

 

Synovitis is a disease characterized by inflammation of the synovial membrane of the joint, as well as the accumulation of fluid in the cavity that it lining. Most often, the appearance of synovitis is observed in one joint, although it is possible in several (with polyarthritis). The most common form of the disease is synovitis of the knee joint, but synovitis of the hip joint, ankle, and shoulder is quite common.

Causes of synovitis

The causes of this disease are still being studied. In particular, this applies to synovitis of the knee joint in children. However, the main ones are highlighted:

  1. 1 Knee injuries, cuts, abrasions through which the infection gets;
  2. 2 Arthritis or rheumatic diseases;
  3. 3 Sickle-cell anemia (a disease in which the structure of the hemoglobin protein is disrupted);
  4. 4 Allergy;

  6. 6 irritation of the synovium by a torn meniscus, damaged articular cartilage, or instability of the joint itself.

Symptoms of synovitis

A high fiber content is noted in buckwheat, whole grains, oatmeal, nuts, dates, pistachios, figs, apples, pears, peaches, plums, carrots, lettuce, peas and beans, and potatoes.
  • With synovitis, it is necessary for iron to enter the body. In this case, it is better if the patient receives it with food, since food additives and complexes with iron can cause pain and swelling. Iron-rich foods – broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts, molasses, fish, beans, peas.

It is found in yellow, red, green vegetables, fruits and berries, although most of it is found in carrots, pumpkin, apricots, spinach and parsley. It is also found in liver, fish oil, egg yolks, butter, cream, and whole milk.
  • Doctors also recommend eating cabbage, parsley and spinach, as they are rich in vitamin K, which is necessary for bone synthesis, intestinal motility and regulation of metabolic processes in the body.
  • A variety of fruits and vegetables are beneficial because they contain carotenoids, which are powerful antioxidants.
  • It is also necessary that during this period, foods containing potassium enter the body, which normalizes metabolic processes in the body and prevents edema. These are nuts (walnuts, pine nuts, almonds, cashews, peanuts), raisins, legumes (beans, peas), seaweed, dried apricots, prunes, mustard, potatoes.
  • With synovitis triggered by arthritis, calcium is useful, which is necessary for the formation of bones and increases the body’s defenses. It is found in dairy products (especially sour cream, cottage cheese, feta cheese, cream and cheese), almonds, pistachios, garlic, hazelnuts, beans, peas, oatmeal, and barley.
  • It is also important to consume fish oil as it has a beneficial effect on joint pain.

Folk remedies for synovitis:

  1. 1 One of the most effective remedies in the treatment of synovitis is laurel oil. To prepare it, pour 2 tablespoons of olive or sunflower oil. l. chopped bay leaf. Place the mixture under the lid for 7 days. And then shake and strain the resulting liquid. The oil should be applied to the affected joint during the day or at night, rubbing it.
  2. 2 Comfrey is also used in the treatment of this disease, since it has regenerative properties and has a positive effect on cartilage and bone tissue. To prepare tincture from comfrey, take 0.5 tbsp. chopped root and pour it with 0.5 l of vodka. It is necessary to insist for 14 days in a dark place. Take 1 tsp three times a day with water.
  3. 3 You can also make a decoction of comfrey. For this, 1 tbsp. l. roots are poured with 1 tbsp. boiling water and, placing in a tightly closed thermos, insist for 60 minutes. Drink the entire infusion for 1 day in small portions. The course of treatment is 1 month. Also, the infusion can be used for compresses.
  4. 4 In addition, you can put the herb of St. John’s wort, oregano, mistletoe, thyme, bearberry, eucalyptus, calendula flowers, celandine, valerian, marshmallow, calamus root, licorice and tansy in a glass dish. Then take 1 tbsp. collection, pour 0.5 l of boiling water over it and boil for 2 minutes. The resulting mixture must be infused for 60 minutes, and then filtered. Divide the infusion into equal 3 parts and drink after meals 3 times a day. The course of treatment is 2 months.

Dangerous and harmful products with synovitis

  • It is not advisable to consume coffee and drinks containing caffeine, as they flush calcium from the bones.
  • It is not advisable to eat excessively fatty foods, including fatty meat. And you should not eat whole milk and red meat every day, so as not to provoke excess weight.
  • It is better to avoid spicy, acidic, salty foods, especially if the patient is using ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatory drugs, since edema will appear due to the sodium ion content (in salt). And the spices, in turn, contain solanine, which causes a feeling of pain and discomfort in the muscles in people suffering from this disease.
  • For the same reason, it is not recommended to eat egg yolks, tomatoes and white potatoes every day. However, they are beneficial if eaten 2-3 times a week.
  • Smoking also negatively affects the body, weakening its protective functions and poisoning it with toxins.
