Pilkington self-cleaning glasses

Pilkington windows will literally clean themselves, and in rainy weather the window will remain as clean and transparent as on a sunny day.

The active introduction of nanotechnology into life allowed the company’s specialists to apply on the window panes the thinnest microcrystalline coating of titanium oxide fifteen nanometers thick (fifteen times ten times the minus ninth power), which reacts to sunlight. In this case, a chemical reaction occurs, which removes dirt from the surface without any detergent.

When water gets on such glass, a hydrophilic effect occurs, in which moisture does not settle in the form of separate drops, but is distributed evenly over the entire surface, washing away dirt and leaving no trace. In short, one more headache has become less!

The invention has already received favorable reviews from ecologists, who note that there is no need to use chemicals that would inevitably get into the soil.
