Our tips for keeping a healthy glow all year round

Looking good all year round is possible thanks to simple tips and a healthy lifestyle. Follow our advice to have a beautiful complexion in all seasons.

Bet on foods that give you a healthy glow

The skin is the reflection of our inner balance. What we eat can have an impact on the health and beauty of the skin. Certain foods are also known to give “good looks”.

On the first step of the podium, foods rich in beta-carotene (or provitamin A), an antioxidant plant pigment that stimulates the production of melanin. It is precisely this melanin which gives a more or less tanned color to the skin. Its role is also to protect the skin against ultraviolet rays and therefore to prevent skin aging. The foods highest in beta-carotene are orange and green plants: carrot, melon, apricot, peppers, sweet potato, mango, pumpkin, spinach …

Citrus fruits are also your best allies to keep a healthy glow all year round. Rich in vitamin C and fruit acids, lemon, orange and grapefruit illuminate the complexion and purify and tone the skin. Fruit acids are more and more integrated in the formulations of skin care products.

A radiant complexion also requires good internal hydration. Not drinking enough water can have repercussions on the appearance of your skin (dull complexion, redness, itching, etc.). Drink at least 1,5 liters of water per day, 2 liters ideally. If you are not a fan of plain water, infuse citrus fruits (lemon, grapefruit) in your water or mint to flavor it. Green tea is also a good alternative to plain water. Rich in antioxidants and astringent agents, it rids the body of toxins and it shows on the health of the skin!

Finally, give pride of place to the essential fatty acids omega 3 and omega 6. They nourish the skin and help keep it hydrated. Omega 3s are found in fatty fish (salmon, mackerel, sardines, herring), avocado or rapeseed oil. Omega 6 is found in sunflower oil for example. Be careful, a balance must be respected between omega 3 intake and omega 6 intake because too much omega 6 can be harmful to health.

Pamper your skin

The care given to your skin helps to make it beautiful and, a fortiori, to give you a healthy glow. Establish care rituals is a good habit to take to protect the epidermis against external aggressions.

Facial cleansing, morning and evening is the first important step (after removing makeup in the evening). Choose a gentle, greasy cleanser so as not to attack and dry out the skin. Then place at the application of a moisturizer. You should never skip the hydration step because the skin needs a lot of water to stay soft and supple. The ideal is to use a light and mattifying moisturizer during the day and a richer moisturizer at night because the skin absorbs more of the active ingredients contained in the treatments at night and regenerates itself more quickly.

For a smooth and luminous complexion, it is essential to rid the skin of dead cells present on the surface of the epidermis. Hence the need to provide a facial scrub once or twice a week. For sensitive skin, a gentle, grain-free scrub every two weeks is sufficient.

Moisturizers are essential, but they are not always enough to nourish the skin deeply. Once a week, give yourself time to apply a nourishing mask to your face., leave on for at least 15 minutes. For an instant healthy glow and “baby skin” effect, choose recipes that contain fruit acids, butters and vegetable oils.

Pay special attention to lips and eye contours

Your beauty routine must also include care for your lips and the contours of your eyes because these are areas of the face whose care is essential to have a healthy glow in all seasons! The eye contour and the lips are more fragile areas because the skin is thinner and more sensitive than elsewhere. They require special care.

First, for the eye area, in addition to your moisturizer, apply a special eye care (in the form of a cream or serum) morning and evening, making light circular movements to stimulate the microcirculation and do well. penetrate assets.

Then, for a soft mouth, do a gentle, natural scrub once a week to remove dead skin. For example, apply a mixture of sugar and honey to your lips and massage gently before rinsing.

Finally, for plumped and nourished lips, apply a mask once a week, leave on for 15 minutes. And above all, always carry a lip balm with you because the lips need to be hydrated several times a day (and not only in winter). For fans of matte lipstick, don’t overdo it because it tends to dry out the skin. Let your mouth breathe every now and then by not applying anything to it other than a light nourishing balm.

You will understand, to keep a good glow in all seasons:

  • Drink a lot of water ;
  • cleanse and moisturize your skin twice a day;
  • never skip the makeup removal step;
  • exfoliate (scrub) and deeply nourish (mask) your skin at least once a week;
