Seborrhea is a skin disease in which there is increased sebum secretion, as well as a change in the composition of the sebaceous secretion, as a result of the accumulation of free fatty acids in it.

Causes of seborrhea:

The exact causes of seborrhea are still being studied, but the factors that influence the development of this disease are named. These include:

  • Heredity or genetic predisposition (pronounced development of the sebaceous glands);
  • Disorders of the endocrine system, mental illness, as well as diseases of the gastrointestinal tract;
  • Hormonal changes;
  • Stress and nervous disorders;
  • Improper diet, especially deficiency of vitamins A and B.

  • Do not forget about vegetable oils, for example, olive, sunflower, linseed, as they provide collagen synthesis and also improve the condition of the skin.

Traditional methods of treating seborrhea

  1. 1 For the treatment of dry seborrhea, you can use a mixture of ground parsley seeds (1 tsp), castor oil (2 tsp) and alcohol (1 tsp), which is rubbed along the partings into the scalp every other day.
  2. 2 In addition, a mixture of castor oil, onion juice and vodka in equal quantities, which is rubbed into the skin 60 minutes before washing your hair, helps with dry seborrhea.
  3. 3 For oily seborrhea, you can use a mixture of birch tar (5 g), castor oil (5 g) and wine alcohol (20 g), which is also rubbed into the skin 60 minutes before shampooing.
  4. 4 Also, with oily seborrhea, you can moisten the hair roots with aloe juice for several days.
  5. 5 After washing with oily seborrhea hair can be rinsed with infusion of nettle leaves (2 tablespoons pour a glass of boiling water and leave for 10 minutes).
  6. 6 You can also use a tincture of geranium and nettle leaves (pour 2 tablespoons of herbs into 1 liter of boiling water), leave for half an hour, and then rinse your hair.
  7. 7 Alternatively, you can mix 10 tbsp. tincture of calendula (sold at the pharmacy) and 1 tbsp. castor oil. This mixture must be rubbed into the scalp 2 times a day.
  8. 8 For the treatment of seborrhea in infants, they use a series of decoction, which is added to the bathroom or used in the form of lotions.
  9. 9 Also, with seborrhea, you can rub plantain ointment into the scalp (mix 2 parts of plantain juice with 1 part of petroleum jelly). Store in a glass container with a tight lid.

Dangerous and harmful products with seborrhea

  • Patients with seborrhea need to exclude sweet and flour dishes from their diet – baked goods, pasta, since they contain simple carbohydrates that provoke exacerbations of the disease;
  • Also, you can not eat spicy, fatty, fried, pickled, smoked foods, as they contribute to the course of the disease;
