The reasons:

The main reason for the development of the disease is vascular disorders, which provoke circulatory disorders in the retina. However, retinopathy can develop as a result of complications of arterial hypertension, diabetes mellitus, hematological diseases, inflammatory eye diseases, hyperopia, eye and brain injuries, stress, surgery.

Symptoms:

Common symptoms for all types of retinopathy are visual impairment, namely: the appearance of flies, dots, spots in front of the eyes, blurred vision, or even the onset of sudden blindness. Reddening of the protein is also possible, caused by hemorrhage in the eyeball, or by proliferation of blood vessels. In severe forms of the disease, a change in the color and reaction of the pupil is possible. There may be pain in the eye area, nausea, dizziness and headache, numbness in the fingers, double vision.

Types of retinopathy:

  1. 1 Diabetic – develops in diabetes mellitus.
  2. 2 Retinopathy of prematurity – can develop in children born before 31 weeks, since not all of their tissues and organs have had time to form.
  3. 3 Hypertensive – develops as a result of arterial hypertension.
  4. 4 Retinopathy for diseases of the hematopoietic system, hematological diseases.
  5. 5 Radiation – may appear after treatment of eye tumors by radiation.
