Herpes is a disease caused by herpes simplex viruses of the first, second, sixth and eighth types, varicella zoster, Epstein-Barr, cytomegalovirus.

The virus infects the optic tract, ENT organs, oral organs, mucous membranes and skin, lungs, cardiovascular system, central nervous system, genitals and lymphatic system. Herpes contributes to the development of such diseases: keratitis, optic neuritis, iridocyclitis, phlebothrombosis, chorioretinitis, herpetic sore throat, pharyngitis, laryngitis, vestibular disorders, sudden deafness, gingivitis, stomatitis, genital herpes, broncho-pneumonia, myocardiosis hepatitis, proctitis, ileo-colitis, colpitis, amnionitis, endometritis, metroendometritis, chorionitis, impaired fertility, prostatitis, sperm damage, urethritis, mycephalitis, nerve plexus damage, sympathoganglioneuritis, depression.

With herpes, you should adhere to a diet that should include foods with a high lysine content and a low arginine concentration, dishes that increase immunity, and also reduce the acidity of the body.

Useful foods for herpes

  • seafood (such as shrimp);
  • dairy products (natural yogurt, skim milk, cheese);
  • vegetables, herbs and fruits rich in phytoncides (onions, lemons, garlic, ginger);
  • wheat-based products;
  • potatoes and potato broth;
  • casein;
  • meat (pork, lamb, turkey and chicken);
  • fish (except for flounder);
  • soy products;
  • Brewer’s yeast;
  • eggs (especially egg white);
  • soybeans;
  • wheat germ;
  • sea ​​kale.

Folk remedies for herpes

  • Kalanchoe juice;
  • garlic (crush the cloves of garlic in a garlic dish, wrap in gauze and wipe the rash on the lips);
  • apple cider vinegar and honey (mix one to one and spread on the lips twice a day);
  • take the juice of beet tops, carrots and apples throughout the day;
  • a decoction of white wormwood instead of tea;
  • a film on the inside of a fresh chicken egg (apply the sticky side to the rash);
  • fir oil, camphor oil, tea tree oil or lemon balm oil (apply a cotton swab moistened with oil to the rashes three times a day);
  • an immune infusion (mix two parts of the root of zamanihi, the herb of St. John’s wort and the root of Rhodiola rosea, three parts each of nettle and hawthorn fruits, four parts of rose hips; pour the mixture with boiling water and insist for half an hour, take one third of a glass heated three times a day before food);
  • infusion of birch buds (pour two tablespoons of birch buds with one glass of 70% alcohol, leave for two weeks in a dark place).

Dangerous and harmful foods for herpes

In the diet, you should limit the use of foods rich in arginine. These include:

  • nuts, peanuts, chocolate, gelatin, sunflower seeds, legumes (peas, beans, lentils), whole grains, salt;
  • alcoholic beverages (has a toxic effect on the immune system);
  • beef meat;
  • sugar (reduces the rate of absorption of vitamins B and C, reduces immunity).
