Not finished – pay a fine: restaurant innovations

The planet’s population is growing and very soon, in order to feed all the inhabitants of the planet, they will have to switch to the so-called “planetary diet”. The situation is made worse by the careless use of manufactured products.

A third of all food produced in the world is not eaten, and the total cost of discarded food reaches $ 400 billion a year. But this food could feed 870 million hungry people, writes The New York Times.

The management of the Dubai restaurant Gulou Hotpot is thinking about ecological consumption. And decided that now every guest who leaves leftovers will be required to pay an additional 50 dirhams ($ 13,7) to the total amount of the bill.

According to the restaurant, this measure will not only help to combat food overruns, but also make visitors rely on their strength when placing an order.

It should be noted that this “penalty” applies to a “hot” offer – unlimited access to food and drinks for two hours for 49 dirhams. The menu includes aromatic broth, meat, fish, tofu, vegetables, noodles and desserts. And now, if guests cannot eat everything they ordered, they will have to pay an additional 50 dirhams.
