New York pizzeria places dog portraits on boxes

One of the franchise outlets Just Pizza & Wing Co., which is based in Amherst, NY, attaches dog flyers to its boxes, cnn.com reported.

And not because the dogs’ faces are affectionate, so the pizzeria helps dogs find new owners. The thing is that the boxes show photos of specific dogs from the shelter, each of which can be offered a new home. The pizzeria promises anyone who accepts a dog a $ 50 gift certificate.

This unique idea came about after Mary Alloy, who owns one of the Just Pizza & Wing Co. started working as a volunteer with the Niagara Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA). There she came up with this way to help the animals find a new home.

This story quickly went viral. Many people wanted to order such a pizza, they willingly shared photos with it on social networks. And – most importantly – in such an unusual way, several dogs have already been attached, so now photos of cats will appear on boxes with snacks. Other establishments also took up the initiative.
