Miracle Ingredient: Japanese pastry chef baked an invisible cake

The Japanese baker who runs his Instagram account @tomeinohito is known for creating truly incredible culinary wonders from jelly. His new is a tart, which at first glance consists only of a sandy base and has no filling at all. A cake over which whipped cream is floating as if in weightlessness.

But, of course, the pie has a filling and consists of transparent jelly.

The author of the dessert does not hide his secret and shared the recipe for a wonderful cake with subscribers. The transparent filling is made from a mixture of gelatin, white wine, sugar, honey and lemon.

The Japanese warned that during cooking this mixture may not look very impressive, but as soon as it hardens, it will look like glass.

This is such a culinary optical illusion – and all thanks to the talent of the chef and such an interesting and accessible ingredient as gelatin.
