Major hair care mistakes

Beautiful shiny hair is the key to attractiveness, because lush hair not only demonstrates well-groomed, but also personifies health. It is not for nothing that many men consider the luxurious mane of their beloved to be the sexiest part of her appearance.

Alas, not all of the fair sex can boast of a healthy head of hair. Someone inherited problem hair from their parents, and someone has grown the problem himself, ruining it with improper care. What are the main mistakes in hair care?

The main enemies of the scalp, and therefore the hair, are aggressive surfactants (surfactants) contained in shampoos, which are full of supermarket shelves and household chemicals stores. Unscrupulous manufacturers do not bother with the consequences, but try to get the maximum income at the minimum cost. With the constant and frequent use of widely advertised shampoos, the scalp suffers, its deep lesions occur, manifested by itching, burning, and dandruff. Hair becomes brittle, thinning, their rows are steadily thinning.

What to do?

If you want to have good hair, you will have to skip the general use of shampoos. The first thing you should pay attention to is the composition of the shampoo. If sodium laureth sulfate is in the first place, it is better to refuse such a purchase. On the one hand, due to laureate sulfate, the shampoo foams well, effectively removing oil from the hair, they become clean, and on the other hand, they irritate the scalp and eyes.

Look for shampoos that contain a natural soap base of plant origin (soap root, soap nut). There are such brands that produce natural hair cosmetics. The only drawback of these shampoos is that they do not wash well on the hair. But that’s just fine. This speaks of its naturalness, and the way out of this situation is very simple: wash your hair in two steps.

For the first time, distribute a small amount of shampoo through the hair, massage gently and rinse. Reapplying the shampoo will already give good lather and great results. And do not be afraid that this will lead to additional consumption of shampoo, since very little of it will be needed for the second application. But problems such as excess oil secretion from the scalp, due to which the hair quickly becomes greasy, will disappear over time. Not instantly, of course. For example, if your hair is often greasy and had to be washed every day, then after about a month there will be an improvement, and you will be able to wash it after two days, and then even less often. Dandruff, peeling, itching will go away. The hair follicle will enter a comfortable mode of operation, the hair will begin to gradually strengthen, recover – and as a result, it will look decent.

The second common mistake in hair care is to listen to the advice of friends, which is the most common mistake for ladies. We all have different hair. Even for mothers and daughters, they differ so much that the same shampoo does not suit them. Treating your hair on the advice of a friend is like, figuratively speaking, trying to live with her husband. She is good with him, but you are not very good. It is the same with hair products: what is good for one is “death” for another.

What to do?

If you have tangible problems with your hair, it is better not to pick up the shampoo on the advice of your friends “by typing”, but to consult a specialist: a trichologist or a hairdresser-trichologist. It is better to spend 500 rubles once for a consultation with a specialist who will give sensible recommendations based on the characteristics of your scalp and hair structure, and will select a line of shampoos just for you.

I have a familiar large family in which all five daughters and their mothers have different scalp and hair structures. They are not suitable for the universal shampoo “for all hair types”, which they used and made a lot of problems. Today they each have their own shampoo – and each has healthy, beautiful hair.

We underestimate the penetration of surfactants into the scalp and the destructive effect they have. Yes, this does not happen immediately: they washed the head and the hair fell out, but gradually (as they say, water and stone wears away). Even the most expensive shampoos from the widespread and well-known lines are not a guarantee that they will not harm your hair.

The third mistake is the use of all kinds of untested masks (mayonnaise, etc.) for hair, as well as burdock oil. Do not rub pure burdock oil into the scalp and hair! In such cases, the quality of the oil itself is very important. If it is a high quality, purified essential burdock oil that is well absorbed by the skin – one result. And if the usual pharmacy, based on cheap vegetable oils, to which a little burdock extract was added, it is completely different.

What to do?

If you are so impatient to test the effect of burdock oil on your hair, use it at least not in pure form, but in cocktails, in combination with other ingredients. For example, add a few drops of burdock oil to a kefir-based mask. At least in a cocktail, it will not clog the pores, as in its pure form, and will not do any harm.

Another mistake in hair care is the daily blow-drying, especially at high speeds and at elevated temperatures. This injures the hair and makes it brittle.

What to do?

It is better to dry your hair naturally, and use a hairdryer exactly when you need to correct or style naughty strands. Drying your hair constantly from wet to dry is very harmful.

Proper Drying – Girlfriend Hair

Roll your hair in a terry towel that absorbs moisture well and leave for a while. After 15 minutes, change the towel to a dry one and wrap your hair again. When the towel absorbs moisture as much as possible, apply a few drops of oil or a conditioner spray with thermal protection to the hair and proceed to the final drying with a hairdryer just before styling. But dry the main moisture not with a hairdryer, but with a towel, and not rubbing the hair, but twisting it in a towel. Rubbing with a towel raises the cuticles and leaves the hair especially vulnerable.

How to make thin hair thicker?

This is a whole complex of measures: competent correct haircut, correctly selected means (spray volumes that add thickness to the hair due to the natural composition), highlighting (when the roots are slightly darker and the length is slightly lighter) and various plant-based mousses. And there is no one magic remedy that will immediately make the hair thicker.

Rules for choosing a quality shampoo

If the shampoo does not wash well, then it is good, of high quality. Highly lathering shampoos are dangerous! The bubble bath is good for romance, but not for the beauty and health of hair. The worse the shampoo lathers, the better it is: it is free of sulfates, parabens, preservatives. These shampoos are written sulfate-free, paraben-free, i.e. free from sulfates. In a series of advantages, they have the only drawback – they do not foam well on dirty hair the first time they are applied. After rinsing and reapplying a small amount of shampoo, the foam is already copious.

  • You should not use shampoos for oily hair in the hope that they will become greasy less often. The effect can be reversed.
  • It is better to boil or acidify tap water for washing and rinsing your head (for example, with apple cider vinegar or citric acid). An acidified environment is beneficial for the scalp and hair.
