How to treat varicose veins on the legs

About a year ago, I noticed that blue “stars” appeared on my calves, in the evenings my legs began to swell, there was a burning sensation, itching. Colleagues suggested that these are, perhaps, the first signs of varicose veins, a disease that often develops in salespeople and everyone who has to spend their working day standing or sitting. Unfortunately, the fears were confirmed. I knew that problems with veins can occur in women of any age (by the way, I’m only 28), but I hoped that the trouble would pass me by, because I lead an active lifestyle, monitor my weight and try to eat right. Alas, I was no exception.

Varicose veins or chronic venous insufficiency (CVI) is stagnation of blood in the veins of the legs. Excessive stress (strength exercises, aerobics), excess weight, fever, sedentary or standing work, a sedentary lifestyle – all these factors lead to the development of CVI. In addition, blood in the veins of the legs may not circulate well due to prolonged sitting “side to side”, frequent visits to the sauna or solarium. Even leg hair removal, anti-cellulite massage and skinny jeans can increase CVI symptoms. It is not surprising that varicose veins are most often manifested in the fair sex. In addition, the development of the disease can provoke hormonal changes in the female body, especially during pregnancy, childbirth and menopause.

For several months I suffered with varicose veins and did not treat him in any way. Every day I was accompanied by heaviness in my legs, swelling and pain. The vascular “stars” on the calves became more and more. I began to wear only wide and long trousers. Finally, after visiting a phlebologist, I realized that CVI should be treated as soon as possible. After all, neglected varicose veins can lead to the occurrence of trophic ulcers, and there it is not far from the operating table. To avoid complications, my doctor advised me to try elastic compression (special stockings, tights) and some medications. Today there are many of them on our market: ointments, creams, tablets.

Medicines, for example, a special gel, will help to prevent the disease and get rid of unpleasant and painful symptoms. One of the most common drugs to combat CVI is Venolife… It is used as a prophylaxis and for the complex treatment of varicose veins, when the first symptoms are just beginning to emerge. Besides, Venolife It is used to treat soft tissue injuries (hematomas, dislocations, sprains).

The medicine contains three main components: heparin has an anti-inflammatory effect, prevents blood clots and improves local blood circulation. Troxerutin reduces capillary fragility, removes edema and inflammation. Dexpanthenol stimulates skin regeneration processes, makes it more elastic. One of the benefits of the gel Venolife: it is quickly absorbed, takes effect immediately and does not stain clothes due to its color and texture. Therefore, the gel can be applied at any time. It is important to know that Venolife is recommended for use even for pregnant women.
