How to remove foundation from white clothes

The key to removing foundation from clothing is to properly prepare the fabric. It is easier to wash things based on synthetic materials, with cotton and wool, the situation is more complicated.

There are several ways to prepare fabric:

• treat the stain from the foundation with any makeup remover – milk, foam, lotion or micellar water. Apply a small amount of the product to the desired area of ​​the fabric and leave for 15 minutes. Then you can wash the thing in the usual way;
• if the question arises about how to remove foundation from clothes that are not recommended to be washed (coat, for example), then ordinary dishwashing liquid will help. It must be applied with a sponge to the damaged area, after 20 minutes, treat the fabric with a clean damp sponge until the stain disappears;
• rubbing alcohol can be used on outerwear. Wipe the cloth with a dampened cotton pad or sponge, after 15 minutes repeat the procedure again. Then leave to dry completely. This method is effective even for removing stains from fur products;
• ammonia is applied to the traces of the foundation with a cotton pad. Sprinkle everything on top with baking soda. After 10 minutes, wash the fabric in the usual way;
• starch is also suitable for removing foundation. Sprinkle it over the stain and brush the fabric with a brush. Shake the thing, removing the starch residues, and wash the clothes in the washing machine;
• you can use regular laundry soap. With its help, it is necessary to carefully wash the stain by hand, and then wash the thing in the washing machine.

Liquid foundation is the easiest to wash off. It will be more difficult with a persistent, thick, oily-based product. Color also plays a role: light shades are easier to remove.

It is always more difficult to deal with stains on white things, as it is important to maintain the whiteness of the color. Better to use a special bleach designed for white linen. It is necessary to treat it with the trace of the foundation according to the manufacturer’s instructions, and then wash the clothes in the washing machine.

If you cannot remove heavy dirt on your own, then it is better to dry-clean your clothes. You can wash the foundation without much effort if the stain is fresh. All the proposed methods will become more effective if you use them immediately after the stain is detected.
