How to quickly peel garlic

Garlic is a common additive in the kitchen, alas, it leaves a smell on your hands, and once again you do not want to peel it with a knife and stain your fingers with caustic juice. Here are two ways to peel garlic to keep your hands clean.

The first method

This method works well for small amounts of garlic. Take an unpeeled clove, place it on a cutting board, take a wide knife and press the garlic on top with the entire width of the blade until you hear the crackle of the peeled peel. Now peel the skin easily. If you don’t press too hard, the clove will remain intact. If you overdo it, the garlic will be crushed and begin to produce juice, but in some cases this is necessary – for example, to fry it in a pan.

second method

This method is for those who need more garlic immediately. Take a whole head of garlic and place it on the board. Again, press down with a wide knife blade and hit it once from above so that the garlic under the knife falls apart into cloves. Transfer the husked cloves into a deep bowl and cover with either a lid or a plate on top. Shake the container with garlic sharply for a few seconds – the cloves will practically be cleaned on their own, all that remains is to remove the husk and clean up the flaws.
