How to make gingerbread cookies
 

You can always find traditional recipes for every event, occasion or holiday. New Years and Christmas are no exception. In addition to a whole menu of various dishes, there are also traditional pastries. Gingerbread cookies have long become a symbol of winter holidays; it is very interesting to cook them, involving children in the process. And here is a great recipe for this:

You will need: 2 eggs, 150 gr. sugar, 100 gr. butter, 100 gr. honey, 450 gr. flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1 tsp. spices for gingerbread, 1 tsp. grated fresh ginger, zest of half a lemon.

Process:

– Heat honey, sugar and butter in a water bath, everything should melt and mix;

 

– Remove from the water bath and add eggs, lemon zest, ginger. Mix everything well;

– Mix flour with baking powder and spices, add to honey and knead the dough;

– Cover the dough with cling film and leave at room temperature for 30 minutes;

– Dust the table with flour and roll out the dough thinly, about 0,5 cm;

– Cut out the gingerbread cookies, put on a baking sheet covered with baking paper, and bake at 180C for about 10 minutes;

– Decorate the finished gingerbread to taste.
