How and where to store white bread correctly?

It is not recommended to store different types of bread in one place. Each variety has its own shelf life and implies certain conditions. If you place white, black bread and buns in one bread bin, then all these products will quickly lose their taste and deteriorate.

The nuances of storing white bread at home:

  • white bread will remain soft and fresh for quite a long time if you wrap it in natural fabric (linen, cotton, but if you cannot use such materials, you can use ordinary kitchen towels);
  • instead of fabric, you can use white paper or foil (fabric and paper must be white, and the only exception is foil);
  • you should not store white bread in the refrigerator (unlike black bread, white bread has a high moisture content, so in cold conditions it will begin to evaporate rapidly);
  • the ideal place for storing white bread is a bread bin (if you plan to store several types of bread, then each loaf is best isolated with paper);
  • white bread can be stored in a plastic bag or in cling film (it is imperative to make several holes in polyethylene);
  • white bread can be stored in the freezer, and the shelf life in this case will be several months (the product must first be placed in a plastic bag, paper or foil);
  • if you put an apple slice in a bag of white bread or in a bread bin, then the shelf life of the bakery product will last;
  • refined sugar, salt and peeled potatoes have properties similar to those of an apple (these ingredients are also recommended to be placed in a bread bin);
  • salt not only prevents premature hardening of bread, but also eliminates the risk of mold;
  • if a plaque or mold has appeared on white bread, then its storage should be stopped (in no case should such bread be used for food);
  • you cannot store white bread bought at different times in one plastic bag (a similar situation applies to different types of bread, for example, if white bread was stored in the bag, then you should not reuse it for the black variety);
  • warm bread is not recommended to be immediately placed in a bread bin, freezer or plastic bag (the product must cool completely, otherwise the steam will cause condensation, which in turn will cause the rapid appearance of mold);
  • if spoiled bread was stored in the bread bin, then before placing fresh products in it, its inner surface must be treated with vinegar (otherwise mold on the bread will appear record-breaking fast).

You can use special bags to store white bread. Outwardly, they resemble folders with clasps. These bags can be purchased at hardware stores. Their design allows you to keep the freshness of baked goods for a maximum period.

The shelf life of white bread depends not only on air humidity and temperature conditions, but also on the type in which it is stored. When opened, the bread will quickly become stale and will begin to build up a coating that will gradually turn into mold. An important role is played by the composition of white bread, because any additional ingredients will shorten the shelf life of the product.

White bread can be stored in paper or cloth for 6-7 days. It is not recommended to store this baked product in the refrigerator. The temperature in the refrigerator is ideal for evaporating moisture from white bread, so when the temperature drops, it will quickly become stale.
