Hospitals and an ambulance are working at the limit: the Deputy Mayor of Moscow on the number of patients with COVID-19

Every day, more and more cases of coronavirus infection are becoming known. On April 10, the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development Anastasia Rakova said that the number of hospitalizations in the capital had sharply increased in a week. It has more than doubled. Moreover, in some patients, the disease is severe. Because of this, doctors are now having a hard time, and they literally work to the limit of their capabilities.

“We have to admit that in Moscow in recent days, not only the number of hospitalized people has been growing, but also patients with a severe course of the disease, patients with coronavirus pneumonia. Compared to last week, their number has more than doubled (from 2,6 thousand cases to 5,5 thousand). Along with the growth of critically ill patients, the burden on the metropolitan healthcare has increased sharply. Now our hospitals and ambulance services are working at the limit, ”TASS quotes Rakova.

At the same time, the deputy mayor noted that more than 6,5 thousand people with confirmed coronavirus are receiving the necessary treatment in the capital’s hospitals. It should be noted that, according to forecasts of leading experts, the peak incidence has not yet been reached. And this, unfortunately, means that the number of infected and hospitalized will continue to grow.

Recall that as of April 10, 11 cases of COVID-917 were recorded in Russia in 19 regions.
