Hawaiian smoothie

For the best Hawaiian smoothie flavor and color, use red Hawaiian papaya.

Papaya is enriched with enzymes that promote good digestion. So this dessert is not only incredibly tasty, but also very healthy.

Cooking time: 20 minutes

Servings: 2

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup finely chopped fresh pineapple
  • 1/2 cup peeled papaya
  • 1/4 cup of guava nectar, (see “tips and notes”)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon of grenadine, (see Tips and Notes)
  • 1/2 cup ice

Making a Hawaiian smoothie:

Place all ingredients in a blender. Make a smooth puree and serve the drink immediately.

Tips and Notes:

Note: Grenadine is a red syrup (usually flavored with pomegranate juice) used to color and flavor drinks. Look for grenadine in the alcohol section of your supermarket. Look for guava nectar in the exotic juices section.
