Description of frappe

Frappe (from the French. frapper – to hit, knock, to strike) is a type of dense cold cocktails, basic ingredients: milk, ice cream, and fruit syrups.

Among the hot coffee drinks, familiar to us frappe coffee is unique. It is best to prepare, serve, and consume it cold. Frapper is a French word that translates to “hit, knock or hit.” This term is quite broad to refer to alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages obtained as a result of whipping liqueurs, syrups, liqueurs, and liqueurs with crushed ice in a shaker.

People serve it both as alcoholic and non-using alcoholic beverages with high sugar content: creams, liqueurs, cordials, tinctures, bitters, etc. You may add to the drink different components: chocolate, honey, berries, and fruit. There are two main ways to make a drink – with ice and without it. In the first embodiment, a large part of the glass flow takes the crushed ice. The mixture’s alcohol portion does not exceed 50 ml. It would help if you served the drink when it’s chill and in a small cup in the second case. Frappe made to drink through a straw SIP as if savoring.

Cocktail background

Most popular and at the same time a young form of this cocktails is a Coffee Frappe. The emergence of the drink came about by chance and spontaneously. During the presentation in Thessaloniki in 1957, a new instant chocolate drink Nestle, one of the representative company’s assistants in Greece Dimitrios Vakondios during the coffee break, wanted to drink their favorite instant coffee. But, to his great disappointment, the hot water was not available, and he decided to mix in a blender serving instant coffee with sugar, cold water, and milk. The drink turned out excellent. Since that time recipe for Coffee Frappe is popular in all coffee houses of Greece, and the drink became a symbol of coolness on hot days.

Frappe

The basic ingredients of Frappé are coffee, often espresso, milk, optional, ice, and sugar. Backbone allows fans of frappe and bartenders to create a large number of new recipes. The classic version of Coffee Frappe is best to mix in a blender at low speed with freshly prepared espresso (1 serving), milk (100 ml), sugar (2 tsp.), and ice (3-5 cubes). So the drink becomes delicious and has some air, the components should be slowly whisking for 2-3 minutes, then, for the formation of fluffy foam, for 1 minute stirring at maximum speed.

Use of frappe

Soft drinks, coffee, and fruit frappe perfectly refresh tones and contain a lot of nutrients. Depending on the components and ingredients change the properties of the drink. However, it remains a permanent part of the milk and/or ice cream frappe, which enriches calcium, potassium, B vitamins, animal fats, and essential amino acids. Frappe with milk affects the digestive tract, improves metabolism, reduces the number of microorganisms in the intestines, causing putrefaction.

Coffee Frappe-espresso contains vitamins: B1, B2, PP, minerals: magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, iron, and amino acids. Its use has a slight diuretic effect, increases blood pressure, relieves headaches, gives strength and energy. It is useful to drink in the prevention of liver diseases.

Frappe

People prepare frappe fruit and berries version on the basis frayed into a pureed fruit. This saves you from dropping into the drink the seeds and pieces of peel. For example, before preparing a strawberry, frappe berries should be carefully wiped through a fine sieve. Mango version of frappe

Mango frappe has a fairly large set of vitamins (A, C, D, b group), minerals (phosphorus, calcium, iron, potassium), and organic acids. Puree of mango in the drink helps to cope with the accumulated per-day negative emotions, stress, and nervous tension. This frappe has laxative, diuretic, and antipyretic effects—positive effects on the cardiovascular, nervous system, and gastrointestinal tract.

Harm of frappe and contraindications

Frappe

Frappe has no contraindications. However, if there is an individual intolerance of lactose, the drink should not contain animal milk. When choosing a cocktail recipe, you should pay attention to its components. Make sure that none of the components does cause allergies. Otherwise, it is better to refuse a drink or to replace allergenic products with safer ones.

Additional ingredients

Frappe is a drink ready to take in an extensive range of additives. Any seasonal fruits and berries can become additional components for it – some like raspberry frappe, others prefer black currant. Do you love chocolate frappe?

Have you tried adding ice cream to it? And honey and nuts? There are no restrictions on the path to true pleasure. Cranberry, pomegranate, egg, pineapple – frappe has hundreds of flavors.

To achieve the best result, you should prepare your experimental frappe in several steps. Separately beat all the ingredients with a blender, except for ice, at low speed, then add crushed ice and grind it also at reduced speeds until a homogeneous slurry is obtained. Only then turn on maximum speed. Continue blender operation until a stable, luxurious foam is achieved. Serve frappe in a tall glass. A traditional Irish glass can be the solution with the same success. And don’t forget the straw! Frappé should definitely be sipped through a straw – slowly, tastefully, efficiently, and well-arranged.

Alcoholic frappe is contradicted to pregnant women, nursing mothers, and children up to 18 years.
